.com creates trust. Therefore more users will click on your site. It doesn't affect SEO directly but indirectly as a higher CTR improves overall SEO.

OP It's a nice effort to try to give people information, but what you've just done is like someone who has flown as a passenger on a commercial airplane one time then going to the airforce and trying to explain to all of the combat pilots how planes are able to take off the ground.

BTW, I don't think anyone ever thought that you paid for a domain once - it literally says in clear language "per year" after every price for every domain on every registrar.
