Hi everyone, I work at a maritime training center, and we film educational videos related to the sea and offshore industry. Could you please suggest how we can make such videos into Shorts efficiently and with good quality, without spending too much time? Thanks in advance!

You can take some highlights of your existing long-form video and make it in Shorts.

Some AI tools can do it automatically, but you should do it manually, as you know what would be the best highlight.

Use Inshot or Kapwing to create your shorts and save time.

There are so many AI tools out there to do your job. Ssemble is one among the lists. Do check if it is a right fit for you.

Good shorts will take lot of.time in editing. All good creators face this time issue and thuse outsource the task to a good editor.

I was hoping I could cut corners here, but it looks like I'll have to find video editors and figure it out myself. Thanks for the reply.

Nice! To make your maritime videos into Shorts the right way, you start by repurposing existing content, so just extract the most engaging 30–60 seconds of it. CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, Opus Clip type of tools will help you do it faster then auto-generate the captions. Shoot in vertical if possible or leave space for cropping. Surprising facts are great hooks so do some good ones such as quick demos: “How do ships anchor in deep water?” Plan your edits according to cheesy pop science you put in there and add music to increase engagement, A lot of the viewers usually scroll down with no sound, so be sure to always have captions. HightLights and edits can even be automated by AIs and there are several AI Tools doing this! Let me know if you want recommendations for your setup!

You teach basic things that most civilians don't know about maritime training, that will attract a lot of attention.
