I appoligize if this has already been asked or answered, but I haven't been able to find much discussing this, and none of it seems definitive.

Is it better to have a site with lots of smaller content pages, or a few pages with loads of content?

The reason I ask is I have a script that dynamically changes the content within a page by changing the display style of DIV's within the page. All of the content is "there" on the page, but by default much of it isnt there unless you click a link to expand the section. This leads me to my questions:

    1) Will Google penalize me for having a majority of the content hidden by default even though its all viewable by expanding the sections?

    2) If Google does penalize me for having parts of the page hidden, would I be better off by using PHP to regenerate the page on every click and only have visible DIV's within the generated HTML? (I'm assuming the page would still get indexed provided I use the .htaccess to rewrite the urls)

    3) Would I get any boost SERPs by instead turning each content page into an index that links to subpages?

    Thanks in advance :D
