Big mistakes you should avoid

Hi everybody,

I am quite new to this forum and reading around for weeks. Now it is time to give something back. My post goes to all the newbies and those who failed making money online. I made some mistakes in the past which I want to share with you.

1. Love The Game
When I started in Internet Marketing 2007 I just wanted to make money. I did not want to "learn" anything but only get some bucks on autopilot. Well, what I learned was that you cannot make much money online if you don't love Internet Marketing. You have to have the ability to teach yourself everyday (learning html, php, wordpress, ...).

2. Take action
I often talk to people who tell me their great plans which "WILL WORK". The tell me that they are planning "this special project" for weeks or months now... well, at the end they often don't even start the projects they talked about.
You have to TAKE ACTION if you want to make money online. Reading and learning is good, but SALE comes from SELL so you have to do something. All your knowledge is worthless if you don't take action.
This advice seems to be simple, but believe me that it is one of the main mistakes especially for newbies.

3. Don't start too many projects at the same time
When I started I tried to use nearly every method I found. I tried one method for a week and switched to another one before the first one was finished. After one year I got a Domain Renewal Notification and noticed that I had already 20 domains... and all of them did not bring me money because the projects have not been finished.
If you start a project, finish it! Don't do anything else until this project brings you some cash. If you tried everything to make it bring you some bucks then leave the project (only if you really believe, that the method itself does not work). which brings me to point 4...

4. Stay focused
You can be a simple guy who wants to earn some extra dollars monthly or you can be a total computer genius: If you don't stay focused on your projects you WILL FAIL! So the best advice I can give you is: STAY FOCUSED! Love your project, live your project... even f*** your project but concentrate on it If I start a new project I am not thinking of anything else. Don't check your emails every 10 minutes, close your Instant Messangers and close your FACEBOOK tab. All you should have opened while you are working are the tools you need for that project.

Totally agree with everything you said, one thing I'd add is to network. Try to help other people and those connections could come back to you big time.

Nice tips. I'm guilty of trying to do too many different things at once! Once you think you're ready to start a new project, you read a new thread on the forum that seems even better. Think I should just pick one and stick to it.

Real truth about internet marketing. Think + Learn + take action = Money

Also one other thing you might want to add in there:

Logic
If you don't think logically in the game you won't make it. Logic is the key to success. If 50 + 50 = 100 then why try to find another way to get 100 if you already know how? Work smart, not hard.

I would be rich by now if I had a penny for every project I have started and never finished. As a beginner is very easy to fall for new methods, and every time you read something new you think "this is the one, I can feel it". But two days later you discover a new method and forget all about the other ones.

It took me quite long to focus just on a couple of projects and I'm still tempted by the new stuff I read daily on this forum

Same here. Now that I have several dozens sites, I don't know which one I should stick to it

Great share! its definetly true. I made this mistakes before but once you learn the game its easy to follow... besides the point i always loved the game on the start! lol

There is one saying that I always kept in mind regardless if was in the online game or not:

"Love what you Do, Do what you Love and you will never have to work again"

btw, dont do many things at the same time is same as focus..?

Very true what the OP says,you have to take action, learn by your mistakes, have patience and dont give up.

the only thing I would like to add is teach it. teach what you learn.
it changes the whole way you look at things when you assume the responsiblity of making sure someone else is able to do something. You will began to take things a whole lot more serious.

I second the power of networking, and to see your project through to finish.

Number 4 is very true.

There is nothing new about this post and it's pretty simple advices as well.

But even thought the advices are simple and straight forward, then would I assume that most people make those mistakes (myself included).

Thanks for the reminder about keeping focus. During my keyword research do I tend to get so many ideas that I suddenly have bought a lot of domains, that I don't have time to work on, at the same time.
