Big IG accounts hacked?

Hello, for the past week I've noticed over 20 large accounts anywhere from 100k to even 1.5m suddenly going crazy. Most of these follow a similar pattern. Lots of active followers, some are suspicious with little posts 20-50 but others seem legit with 500+, and then most have been posting very little as of late. Like, some have a pause of 1-5 days of no posts, then suddenly it's like shoutout after shoutout. And these accounts remove these ultimate spam shoutouts within 5-10 minutes and post more. The worst one I saw was a page over 1 million which at the same time had about 5 shoutouts going. And I'm not talking about the oh hey check out this other account in a similar niche SO which might be okay.. I'm meaning like the all in exlamation marks "follow all these people and then you can access the secret video" or "omg page going private you have to hurry" bla bla. The most recent example I've seen is loverssnote. Are these accounts just full out hacked, or have the owners gone crazy and just don't care that they're losing thousands of followers?

Its all about the money.

Well, that I know. But why have the owners suddenly changed their page so erratically? I see people doing 3-4 shoutouts a day, spaced out, and everything is fine. This just raises a few red flags for me.. especially when some of these haven't really been that active. If it's all about the money, wouldn't they want to still gain followers while doing shoutouts, or at least not lose so much? While, sure it may just be silly of me to assume its a "hacking", but if someone got access to an account, they'd sell a few shoutouts and they wouldn't care about longterm or even if the account got banned. The only reason I'm just really suspicious is just, I've seen this so much within the past few days. May be just a coincidence I guess?

*Edit* another good one is loveebootyy. Sure it may not be the best looking page from before, but suddenly a 12 week gap in posts and today like 10 shoutouts in a row?

Maybe someone just bought these pages for little money, and wants to squezee the hell out of it asap?
Don't know but it looks like that these guys are 10 yrs old or something based on their grammar.
Either they want to get some money asap then abandon the accounts, or they are really stupid.

Is it possible that an app they've used and given permission to, is doing the spamming?

I don't remember which one but an account in the nature niche was posting nice photos of landscapes, etc. and one day when I looked at it it was posting photos of some food supplements...quite a sudden change of direction I implied that it was hacked or something, don't think that 10 year olds have enough money to buy such an account, unless it was another 10 year old

These pages are shared, that means sometimes a co owner decide to promote his own page and then delete the post, other times they are just paid shoutouts.
I still don't know how they can share a 1million page, maybe they are friends in rl.

The sharing factor could be a possible answer to this, at least to some of the smaller accounts. I see a lot of people with co-owners and that kind of stuff... and that may be okay on FB and Tumblr, but they have special options for that. While on IG you just have to give away your passwords and stuff (unless I don't know something). And hmm, it is possible that an app gained access. There's more and more of those sites popping up that help unfollow people and who knows, maybe some are frauds.

That's why I never trust sellers for accounts, I'd rather spend a few minutes and create my own accounts rather than pay someone else make them for me. Not all the people think long-term I guess. Anyway, that's not the main problem, it's Instagram and other sites which are too easy to SE (Social Engineer). People claim to be owners and lie to Instagram to get access to the accounts, which leads to my other point, NEVER EVER let anyone whom you don't know about any details about you or your accounts.

This is a 100% fake page. Less than 20 posts and 280k followers is fake. You can see the new posts have 20 likes only, the older posts had fake likes as well. I wouldn't call this hacked or anything, these accounts were made with a purpose to make money off shoutouts, there's no engagement/active fans whatsoever. Basically churn&burn accounts.

Oh, my bad about that account then. Thanks for letting me know. I'm pretty sure there's still quite a few real accounts out there that are going a little more for shoutouts then followers would want, but at this point, oh well. At least hopefully there's not too many people buying shoutouts from fake pages.
