Big Google Search Update Rolling Out Now - August 10th

It looks like there is a big Google search ranking algorithm rolling out now, on August 10th. This is not a confirmed update by Google, at least not yet. But the chatter since 2pm ET today has been really high within the SEO community. The rank checking tools have not yet updated, but I suspect the tools will show something tomorrow.

To be honest, this reminds me of the old days of when Google would release Penguin or Panda updates. The chatter in the time period is off the scales. Either this is a massive Google search bug or Google pushed out something serious with its ranking algorithm in search.

This started maybe around 2pm ET but after 5pm ET SEOs began to really notice. Normally with Google updates, it takes time to fully roll out and more and more of you will take notice unless Google reverts something.

i check it and crazy nice my travelblog rank to first site ! every backlinks hand made ! but some other sites which i use rankerx are good too !
 
10 hours ago, 2 of my pages were ranking #1 and #3 for main keywords. Checked 1 hour ago and the page ranking #1 is ranking #7, and the page ranking #3 is completely gone. It's not in the first 10 pages. Used site operator to check, and the page doesn't show. I checked GSC and it shows indexed and completely fine. No idea what's going on.

I immediately started checking the forums for any update threads and I'm glad I'm not the only one.
 
a horrible update and I cannot even scroll down in my google ads "ad preview". hope this is a bug
 
Whoa hope it’s volatility but I got absolutely hammered by this update already. Wow! “White hat” site that has been growing well all year.

Oh dear. Wonder who the winners will be
 
Expect the worst and hope for the best.. Worst ? It really is a big update. Best.... it's a bug.
 
Rollback.

I can confirm for sure it is an old index.

I removed comments after Google deranked me to hell in May.
I was all over page 1, then they slowly moved me from like position 30 to 90 over the last 2 months.

However, MUCH positive movement today.

But my comments are back in the index even though they are not even on my site.
Old index, glitch.

I expect all the trash copy paste spun sites to regain their ranks and take me out again.

Before May, I was page 1 for 10+ years.
Amazon Affiliate site making $3,000-$7,000 a month down to $600 since May.
 
I had a local SEO site ranked in the top 10. I would say 60-70% of the competition were ranking their homepage. Today, not a single home page ranking in the first page, just inner pages/blog pages. Anyone else seeing the same thing? Some are even ranking 2 of the inner pages in top 20 results now.

Crazy fluctuation in rankings.
I think this update was specifically targeting local SEO.
 
I just witnessed a test serp in the health/supplements niche with some huge differences. It was active for 5-10 searches then reverted back to the way it was before.

Typically, healthline, webmd, rxlist, medicalnewstoday, etc dominate supplements and health topics.

On the test serp, it was completely random, with a lot of pinterest and oddly google books pages lol. I think they reverted it back quickly because the results were trash.

Oh Google lol
 
One of my KW ranking 18th, jumped to 1st in ahref. but 12 in google search.
