A big google algo update just rolled out few hours ago. Some of my sites got hit :(
Almost all old sites are pushed back. Mostly parasites, pinterest with spun content is ranking. The search results are not even relevant any more.
Looks like google fucked up and their new algo implementation, thats why such updates are happening so often!

How do we even know google fucked up? I have a feeling they are sending users in a merry go round pushing their ad revenue.

uhm... How sure are you?

Afterall, this is the exact complaints we had on the forum when the May update rolled out
 
Can confirm that search results are screwed. Full of Wikipedia pages and the results are irrelevant.
 
Semrush sensor isn't showing anything though? There was some big movement on June 23rd though.

Since last 6 months, these updates are happening quite frequently. Some of my sites lost ranking in one update and then regained in the next pone.
Plus they are bringing a lot of changes in search console as well. You can clearly see those core vital signals in console and now integration of more analytics data with search console .
I think these updates are happening because algo is being changed or some metrics in algo (rank brain) are changed, like considering the value of a particular metric (lets say page speed) being changed from x to y% for ranking websites. This in turn leading to a reset of all data gathered by algorithm which in turn leads to these kind of sudden changes (updates) in SERP.

I think a lot of testing(data collection) is going on to get proper configuration.

Usually some weeks after updates happen as ranking algorithm obtains more data, ranking goes back to normal. And when updates happen, a lot of wikipedia, pinterest, authority sites start appearing on front pages.
 
This frequent update is a proof that Google broke something and have been trying to fix it. I hope they get it right this time.
 
This update has taken place toda because they wanted to to divert attention from BHW 2.0 so let’s not give them any attention
 
Weather is normal according to my sites.
 
Google is allow about 10 websites right now leading the search results... this gotta reverse.

It's killing a lot of businesses. (My bad for not having another type traffic source than my SEO. )
 
Don't try to change anything till the algo update roll out completely. give 2-3 weeks. Then start fixing issues otherwise your rankings will be back as usual
