MS is pulling data from google directly but there are seem to be huge differences.

For example, when using the google tool directly, i get 50k monthly global searches for the given term

while MS shows 10 000 per day (300k per month) for the very same, using the all countries and territories and english settings just as in the google tool.

That happens for quite few other terms as well.
Before you ask, both are for broad match :)

Both are based on estimates, neither is accurate. All they are is jumping off points.

yeah they are estimated but they are supposed to be the same, since MS is pulling data from google

i did some more testing, it seems to be happening for every keyword!
usually the MS numbers are 2-3 times more!

Please someone test for any keyword and share :(

ok upon further research, its a google problem showing highly different data between the old keyword tool and the new one
MS uses the old

BE CAREFUL!

I don't trust these numbers at all. I have enough sites where I can compare my real (position #1) traffic to other real sites (position #1) and Google frequently has wildly different numbers for searches than I see in my referrals.

Plus they bracket the numbers, I never see anything but the following, even for hundreds of keywords:

301,000
246,000
201,000
165,000
135,000
110,000
90,500
74,000
60,500
49,500
40,500
27,100
22,200
18,100
14,800
12,100
9,900
8,100
6,600
5,400
and so on..

Stay away from market samurai keyword research features.I only use it to analyze my competitor backlinks, seo competition, steal article from article directory .Why not use spyfu, nichebot classic or maybe semrush.IMHO..No one software can give u the right information about how much some keyword people searching for a months or for a day.Is it true?

The only way to be sure of kws search number is running an Adwords campaign.

You bid high for the kw you want to be in the first page for, you create a non-pertinent ad so people won't click it (while keeping a high quality score to get your ad shown on the first page) and once you are on the first page for Google sponsored results, you'll see how many impreesions your ad had (in a day, week, month..).

This is not new, you can read more about it somewhere else if you look for it.
