Big decision for my YT channel

Two years ago, I was making gaming content in my native language and had a solid subscriber base (around 100k). But I completely switched to ASMR cooking to target the U.S. market. Honestly, I don’t really focus on building a community since most of my revenue comes from sponsorships, so I don’t feel pressured to entertain an audience.

Maybe that was a big mistake. I put all my old videos on private to keep the channel clean for sponsors. Some of my shorts still get up to 20k views, but most now hover around 5k or less. My long-form videos don’t perform that well—around 10k views—but even before, they never really went above 20k. However, my audience has completely shifted, and most of my views now come from the U.S., Canada, etc.

I’m not sure if my views are being throttled because my old subscribers don’t watch my content anymore, which could be sending a bad signal to the algorithm. I also barely gain any new subscribers now, and even when a video performs well, I end up losing subs—so that’s another bad signal.

What I’m considering:​

1. Keep posting and hope that eventually, a video takes off and helps me rebuild a new audience while completely replacing the inactive one.
2. Delete my current channel and buy an established one to keep getting sponsorships. I’d re-upload my videos and hope the channel has a good trust score (since many brands only look at sub count and engagement).

What do you think I should do?

Why will the sponsors work with you for a new channel? They like your current channel and thus offer sponsorship to you.

You are attacking a very saturated niche by now, probably gaming made you more from the point of view of views / sub / interactions because each content is different from the other, especially if it is video commentary (gaming).
In my opinion you could think of uploading a lot of videos, about 3/5 a day and working on volumes; if your goal is to earn from ADS, you only need 3/4/5k views per day, which is easy to achieve with so many videos.

I am completely read to post a lot of content. The only issue is my channel. I got views but switching audience has been bad for my algo, I can see it, I lost followers, I got approximatively the same amount of views but shorts get stuck at 2K or 10k max despit very good analytics on them, I dont understand. It's like my channel downgraded is the algo trusting score.
That's why i'm hesitating to buy a clean channel with 200K and start to upload all the previous and new videos on it. I'm scared to upload videos on a stucked and trottled channel.

Surely changing niche, without having a solid fanbase with which you can communicate will lead to this, that is, loss of interest. You didn't have real subscribers, but people passing through who followed your videos thanks to the algorithm.
Starting with a new channel is certainly a good choice

Thanks for your input, man. My only issue is finding a channel with a similar niche to mine and at least 100K subscribers. Food or nature travel could be interesting because they attract the same kind of audience, but I haven't been able to find one so far. Rebranding a channel isn't easy, especially if it's a Minecraft channel, because you'd have to set all the old shorts to private, which isn't great for the algorithm.

Sorry, but isn’t your goal to make money? And am I supposed to understand that even though you have a gaming channel with 100K subscribers, you’re not really thinking about the gaming industry? Because 100K is a solid audience, and if you’re shifting away from it, are you planning to move into a completely different space?

It’s not working, guys. I simply stopped gaming two years ago, switched my niche to something I enjoy, and set my previous videos to private. Now, my channel is nearly dead—flatlining after 10K views. The algorithm doesn’t push my videos anymore. I see some of my previous audience still watching my new content, but the videos are struggling.

So, I’m going to abandon it. I’m wondering if I should buy an existing channel in the food niche to get traffic and have an easier time getting pushed by the algorithm.
