BHW suggestion - Christmas Lottery

Ive used the search function to see if this has been suggested before, im sure it has but i cant find anything.

But yeah as the title suggests, i think a Christmas lottery would be a good idea. A totally legit affair where for example 20-50 members can win various services/jnr vip status etc.

So maybe an entry fee of $5 and a winners table such as:

1-10 tickets drawn receive free SEO services provided by members on BHW. Obviously paid for by ticket money.
11-20 receive jnr vip status

and so on you get the idea.

We could make it a charitable lottery also, where a certain % goes to an international charity organization.

It just crossed my mind that many people on BHW wont be people who celebrate Christmas so maybe scrap the whole Christmas thing and make it a new year thing.

Interesting question. The rules of BHW are made by BHW so im unsure that its an issue. It would be a good way to engage and interest members, a bit of fun with the possibility to win themselves a service/jnr vip status etc. And a reputable charity would gain a much needed donation.

I support it, maybe not SEO services, just Jr VIP and charity. Don't really think BHW paying for some people's SEO services is that good of an idea.

But yes, I like the Jr VIP and charity, since that means BHW can make a donation to a charity, and some of the donators win a Jr VIP, courtesy of BHW as a thanks for donating. I like it! I'd totally pay the 5$.

Instead of BHW paying for services, maybe actual providers can volunteer to provide certain packages of their services. I don't mind doing that.

I actually like the idea, and even though I'm not a big forum person, I do like giving back. Here's how you do it w/o ruffling anyone's feathers. Do NOT have BHW sponsoring or giving away a package or service being offered here period. It will only cause favoritism accusations. Instead what you do is have 2 sides basically. Your contestants, and your sponsors. If someone wants to offer up their services, they can do so, and the winner can choose from the list of services who they'd like to use/try.

It not only keeps the favoritism out of it, but it could also be a chance for ppl to advertise their services for free. If you sponsor a prize and the winner picks it, you'll get to give something to a potential new customer. Same thing with the Junior VIP's. Have a gateway for people to make donations if they'd so choose, and then tally up the money at the end and use it for Junior VIP's. Maybe $1,000 gets donated, and it's used to buy Junior VIP for 10 members or w/e. They would still need to qualify to receive it obviously, no 5 post counters from last week would be able to win. Actually, for the prizes, a minimal limit might be wise anyway. No one with less than 25 posts or something maybe.

I'm kind of just thinking out loud here, but I'd start there if you were seriously wanting to do something like that. I'm not always the most active person in the world, and I don't even really do anything SEO related, but we're all in IM, and if I can, I'm always down to help out and give back a lil, since this is the only forum I've ever really posted on, might as well be here
