BHW should allow scheduled comments and posts

Can't imagine this working in practice.

I briefly considered its possible application for marketplace sellers bumping threads, but within a day or two this would just serve to flood the latest posts lists with seller bumps as they'd all select peak periods.

I'm struggling to think of another use case -to be honest. What scenarios do you personally see this being useful @Suspended Account ?

Sometimes I want to publish something here, but my timezone doesn't help, I'm always at the opposite time, so when I think about creating posts, there a few people online and they don't receive attention

I think there is a Xenforo add-on that allows this feature but I'm not sure there would be, on balance, benefits to this feature being added to the board. Interested to see the consensus on this though.

That's legitimate to be fair. I have experienced this myself with a thread that I think is worthwhile getting lost in the noise when posted off-peak.

@davids355 / @SettingSun77 what's the policy on being allowed (or not) to bump a post in this scenario, the next day (in non-marketplace sections).?

It will make things not so natural like they are right now.

Absolutely agree! The conversational flow here is remarkably organic—almost reminiscent of unstructured human dialogue patterns. It's refreshing to observe a digital space where interactions aren't overly curated or excessively optimized for engagement metrics.

BHW users appreciate real, actionable discussions over corporate-speak or overly sanitized posts. By praising the forum's "organic conversational flow" and lack of "excessive optimization," your comment validates the gritty, no-nonsense vibe that BHW members pride themselves on.

I think it will drain the engagement, nobody will want to publish anything between 11pm - 5am and everyone will want to post between 9am-3pm in EU and US timezones. The result: an empty forum at certain times and overcrowded at others. Not to mention the spam abuse...

I agree the OPs reasoning is valid, it’s just the system would get abused by many people for other reasons. I believe.

As for your question about bumping a thread outside of the marketplace. If it had no replies, a bump after 24 hours would be ok. Anything shorter than that I would consider spam.

It seems as though this discussion has run its course.

As has been stated above, I think post / thread scheduling would be open to significant abuse and we cannot see the positives outweighing the negatives on this. We appreciate the input though, @Suspended Account.
