[BHW] Reprimand Thread Starters that cause defamation without proof

I think its pretty evident as to what this thread is about. Legit forum members/companies work
pretty hard to bring the best they can to this forum. A lot of work, money, and time goes into
building a reputation as a company.

Is it really right for other forum members who never even bought from the company to be
allowed without repercussions to just create a thread with libel accusations and absolutely
zero proof? I think not....BHW is not ripoffreport and if you take a close look at the rules bz
outlined in the shitlist section we don't tolerate accusations without proof around here.

When you create a thread like mentioned above it usually goes viral on this board since everyone
likes to chip in their 2 cents. Personally I am sick of the outing going on without any proof.
You don't have to wear your opinions on your sleeves all the time and when you do it shows
a lack of business sense and composure.

Simply put...If a member wants to start something like this and open a huge can of worms
without any proof then it only makes sense for them to be personally effected and not just
the companies said/mentioned or bystanders. Its really time for the popcorn crowd to know
their actions do effect business and if handled incorrectly you can in-fact hurt the BHW dynamic.

Most of you reading this will probably relate to the most current thread, but it's happened a lot
and recently outing people for thanks has become a new hobby. I know I am not the only one
cringing at this....

yes Agree! Accuse when you get ripped off. BUT if i smell something fishy i do have right to ask other for my judgement, honestly no one can judge others my their own. (Talking about "thing" point of view)
As Wiz mentioed in another thread they are working on this SERIOUS issue and it can get solved in a proper manner OTHER than "You" and "Me" type of drama

Your intentions are well, and from a business sense I respect that. This will ultimately turn into a mudslinging thread and get shut down. Report the users who break the rules and move on, that is what the mods are for.

The issue is I don't see the rules telling people they can't start accusation threads without proof.

You are right, those threads need proof. When a moderator sees such a thread, they respond by looking into it. Speaking of which, I do believe the forum could use maybe one or two more moderators. It seems that the forums are growing rapidly and the issues that members have are hourly.

Right its that grey area where its not a shitlist but it causes inflictions just like a shitlist.
I just see this as an area of the community that needs to be addressed. Additionally for
those members worried about a drama scene...well rest assured they won't even get the
opportunity to start that nonsense here.

You are correct, this amounts to defamation of character or slander. While crooks need to be weeded out, we can't just start calling anyone who doesn't fit our view point of a proper business a cheat. Maybe if there was some recourse for the affected business the tide of these threads would slow.

I hear what you are saying RK and for the most I agree. Unfortunately we live in a world nowadays where communication is instant, reputations can be made or destroyed with the click of a mouse button and some people will always be dicks.

No amount of moderation will keep this or any other public forum clean and free from scammers (both buyers and sellers). I spend a lot of time reading through the forum and regularly report 2-3 threads/posts per day, sometimes much more but it doesn't solve anything.

Outing a specific BST owner publicly achieves nothing and generally just causes flame wars as we have witnessed. If people have a problem with a thread there is a report button at the bottom of EVERY post. IDK about anyone else but I've reported possibly hundreds of posts and never received a warning for reporting, not every post I report gets deleted though. If you have a problem hit the report button and leave a detailed reason why you feel that the post is breaking the rules. I doubt very much that you will get a warning or infraction for just raising a flag for the mods.
