BHW needs a Shoutbox

Hello Staff

I just googled if there are any threads where people ask for a shoutbox to be implemented into our digital home.

I am very active on various communitys from different digital niches but they all have in common that they have a shoutbox.

I know there is the IRC channel but its basically dead, everytime i joined there were maybe 2-3 users active and the rest was idling.

I would suggest to make rules for the shoutbox, no trading and you have to have at least 20 Posts to use the shoutbox, that could guarantee that the shotubox isnt spammed by new accounts and people dont abuse it to promote their offers (we could always create a seperate channel which is just used for trading)

Please Staff, make it happen, we really need this (i am in a few skype groups but its just not the same as when bhw would have their own shoutbox).

I agree with you too a point, I think that's what 'The Lounge' was designed for. But having a shoutbox would be a neat feature.

Its not needed, plus its hundreds of members online at any given time so it would get pretty clustered.

A Thread and a Shoutbox are not the same, a shoutbox is instant messaging while on a thread i have to wait until someone maybe answers.

Thats the argument on every bigger community, i am on a forum where a minimum of 700 people is online at every time, the shoutbox just works fine.

If people with less then 20 posts cant post in the shoutbox and also no one is allowed to advertise there wont be too much activity there, trust me, i had this discussion many times.

It will increase the time a user stays on the site and also its a very good tool to make connections to other users and ask if someone have a problem or a specific question.

People could be selling thread posts as well, yet the rules stop that from happening. With good rules and mods this can be easily prevented.

People who dont obey the rules just get a shoutbox bann for 2 weeks, if they break the rules again they get a month account bann and after that they wll be banned forever.

You guys act like there would be no rules and control in the shoutbox, if people would be out of control on bhw like you paint it they would spam every thread and get away with it.

And then all will say hi/hey to individual member. And then one of them will start trolling, others will follow, few will try to stop them, others will leave the group, few will be banned and soon the group dies out. That's how a Skype group conversation goes on for those who start an Learn to earn Money Skype groups.

Moderators already are outperforming to keep the forum clean, and to manage a shoutbox of random members and to ban the spammers is just invaluable to a time.

I would be in favor of Jr. VIP or above shoutbox group.

Somehow it feels like all the nay sayers in here never were active on a community with a shoutbox, nevermind, in that case it seems liek we dont need one, we will keep posting in inactive skype groups and the dead IRC

Pretty useless, there's a reason why Jr Vip section is dead.

And there is a reason why we don't post about this in general forum section. Though you do have a point since Jr. VIP are all busy with their own ventures and one will rarely post on shoutbox.

Plus+ for the shoutbox. IRC is almost dead and very different form this forum.
We have so many mods here a few can track the shoutbox if one is so concerned about spam.

Don't think a shoutbox is needed - look at some of the threads popping up here by people trying to up their post counts, complete and utter shite posted daily. Can only imagine the crap that would be spewed into a shoutbox if there was one!!

the irc channel already addresses most of the issues brought up here about rules/spam/moderation.

there's also a web interface now to make it easier to access:

the deadness is just due to the general lack of demand for what's essentially a real-time version of the lounge.

They are horrible and will make the site look messy not to mention the amount of spam you're likely to see with a shoutbox.

People dont have a clue, comparing the inactive dead irc to a shoutbox which will stay above the forum, im out, keep using a bunch of skype groups with users all mixed up and i cant verify them to their bhw account.
