It never fails to amaze me at how people join a forum (for free no less) expecting to have all of their needs met by strangers for absolutely no reason with no effort made. I've been a member here for close to 3 years and I have made some great friends, developed my network, found quality contractors for various needs as they have came along and I truly value it all.
I came here with a specific need in 2013 and I was willing to pay someone very well for helping me to achieve my goal. I didn't have ONE member here beat my door down in hopes of A) Helping me or B) Get paid well for doing so.
Common denominators always seem to be found in these types of situations and its centered around the effort YOU demonstrate and the purpose in whatever drives you.
I was a noob, no rep, no IM resume to boast, and no reason to think I was any different or deserved anything more than the thousands of other members here just like me.
Regardless of my success in my own career, that didn't mean shit to anyone here. Did I cry? No! I simply took time to search for those I felt could help and when I found them I made effort to approach them in an effective manner Well..I found someone that was capable of assisting me perfect what I was doing at an agreed fee.
End result..my single largest payout ever ($40,000 for a single job)and a damn good reason to smile every time I think of the WF "expert" that scoffed at me even after I paid him $50 for 15 minutes just to hear me out.
Is WF all bad? No, but this is NOT and will never be that place. It's exactly what you make of it, and in my opinion there's no better place.
