I wanted to share my point of view after reading a few threads titled "bhw is useless" "internet marketing does not work" or similar things.
One point that is interesting and that I would like to mention after 6 months here, is that BHW is a very strange and addictive place. I had some issues because I realised that BHW is only part of a whole and not everything, you have to be curious and not spend all your time here. You have to be careful how you spend your time. For exemple, in my opinion, the make money threads here sucks... Sorry to tell it this way but most of the time it is a "earn 10 bucks per day with a stupid method that is not a long term thing". The problem with this kind of mentality is that you rely on a method that will maybe be inefficient because of an algorithm change or something like that. Complete waste of time according to me to check this section of the forum.
The real value of a business is something you can rely in 5 years too. Building a brand like Tommy posted it.
There is a lot of trash on BHW, oh my god I spent a lot of time losing time with reading shit here and the forum is clunky because the homepage is full of garbage.
BUT... You can find real gold here. The seo threads and guides, the tools and some service (the not scammy ones). There is a lack in some subjects related with IM, but this is the best forum about online marketing that you can find. You just have to learn to use it as a working tool to dig in the shit and find the gem, it is the same when you go on youtube, the same when you go on social media, you have gold under the mud. It is a free forum, so of course you will have a lot of members asking "how to make 1 million in 2 days with internet marketing please teach me seo so I can be rich for saturday I want to go on a boat with 500 hookers"
We all try to find a get rich scheme and are affected by shiny object syndrome, before we understand the game and it's value. Alex Becker said one day that the problem is people, to be successful you have to change how you are, it is a process, you have to dedicate your time to build something of value and it is in that sense that I agree with some threads saying BHW is worthless, if you browse all day on bhw you will be nowhere in 6 months, I force myself to not come here too often because I need to focus on the work/learning that must be done on my side for my business for my future. BHW can be the best thing ever or the worse, if you read everything you will have a shiny object syndrome for sure around here, so better find something you like and stick to it for a period of time that can reasonably show you if it is worth it or not to continue for years to come.
