Do keep in mind most forums pay their staff absolutely nothing.
Not many forums are large businesses like BHW that require paid staff to handle certain areas.. there is also a team of volunteer mods here too that are paid nothing.

Moderators are part of the staff and some of them are paid and some volunteer as @t0mmy explained above.

@Apricot in the job description it says: "Please note we can only accept applicants that have the correct Visa to work in the UK permanently."
Well with this Brexit thing only people who are residents or have previously worked in the UK and have NINO and other papers can apply for this job.

As far as I'm aware, that's generally correct, yes. However, I've looked into it and the European Commission website says that workers from EU member countries that are working in the UK at the time it leaves the EU will not have to leave as long as they continue to work.
I have absolutely no idea if this will remain the case - therefore I'd suggest that anyone who's in an EU country and is interested in the job, researches this for themselves to make sure they're adequately covered.

I did my research, and you need that Nino paper to be able to work in the UK. You can apply for this "nino" AFTER you have a proof of address in UK. In 2 to 5 weeks they will send you this paper if you pass their "exam".
Small chances for someone outside the UK. Think about it, for that proof of address you need to rent something in the UK for at least 2 months and have money to spend at that time.
Anyway, I look at myself - I can't apply for this job as I strive to learn, but my English skills......
As a suggestion, for the future, many people here will work for few or no money at all - just to learn - I included - I'm not ashamed to say it, but remote.
We have some great people around.

Could I send in a tripod, webcam, and a desktop capturing device? It would be as if I were sick, and working from home, but would get to also see what's outside of the screen... Maybe the cam could be put on a drone, and the drone get set up on company wifi, that way I could attend meetings and such, if they weren't in my office? I'll make it one of those 4 prop drones, so it's stable enough for a picture of my face to hang below it...
