domain registry's can withhold domains because of legal requests pending an investigation. PorkBun do it all the time.
if namecheap doesnt show ur domain, ask namecheap why.
you wont be sued. i could buy buyiphones.com or jimcarey.com and i wont be sued. may get a legal letter like urs and the domain taken off of me, but unless im making substantial money, they wont sue. cost to them is too much.
overall, namecheap has pulled ur domain so they dont get into legal trouble for facilitating, so ur in the clear and dont waste anymore time on this.

Firstly, calm down! It is a "Cease and Desist", NOT some email or mail telling you to turn up for a court hearing to be sued.

Secondly, since you've deleted everything and stopped, you're technically abiding by their "cease and desist" by stopping whatever you're doing.

When you receive such a message, they want you to cooperate with them (such as handing over the domain, and so on). However, this is a tricky scenario as replying may expose your identity further and 'admitting'. If these legal representatives are unethical or get told by their client (in this case IG) they can take further action by suing you. Though it is unlikely unless you've pissed them off a lot or some big shot that has damaged their brand/reputation severely.

Third and lastly, such C&D emails are usually sent out in bulk. I'm very sure there are many domain names that have IG's trademark in some way. By right, they can just do a UDRP proceeding... But guess what? It is costly. So they just send out these C&D emails in bulk for people to comply or just remove it. It is only those who refuse to comply or stop immediately, or some big shot that pissed them off, that gets further action from them.

So don't worry, you're safe. Just enjoy the holidays now!

Btw why namecheap gave my personal info since I had whois guard and their policy says that they will never give my info without my permission.

in future buy domains anonymously with bitcoin. Then you don't have to worry. You can also buy servers anonymously with bitcoin.

Anonymous website + anonymous server = dead end for legal matters.

Look it at this way. People sue when they have something to gain. Suing you is a waste, their lawyers coffee will cost more than they could ever gain from the case like this.

A lot of times it's not about the gain. Big corporations sue a lot simply to make a point. They will round up multiple offenders and sue them all in the same lawsuit.

Making a point is still a gain. Gain doesn't have to be a financial one. Here, the issue the op has, is nonsense. There is no case here, this would go in circles and just waste everyones time and money and they know it 100%.

Who sent you that email ? NO MATTER who, which company or which organization sent that email, even threatening to sue, do not bother, because to sue merely for some domain, would still cost a lot of money to the opposite party. Well, if the domain was used to scam, cheat, impersonate, etc, then yes, you having sleepless nights , may be justified.
Worrying in your case about getting sued, depends on what you did with or through that domain.

Read their policies with respect to domain privacy. In certain cases, even if you have domain privacy, they would provide domain owner details if they are requested the same by the law (example as part of a police enquiry, perhaps, or if a court needs that information, etc), and the same is very clearly mentioned in their terms and conditions.
