I've been a member here since 2012. One of the best places to learn, research and discuss different online ventures. I'm disappointed to see what BHW has become in the last 2 and half years. There is no sense of community anymore. I would say it feels like 50% of all people responding to threads are copy pasting ChatGPT responses. If I want ChatGPT to give me an answer, I would just use that and not come here. I come here to read real life experiences. The mods aren't doing anything about and are allowing ChatGPT to take over. Don't let BHW die.

I think 2 strikes on chatgpt responses should get a ban I have been reporting them but they still keep coming

Hey there, I totally hear you. BHW has been my go-to since way back, too—so many of us cut our teeth here over the years. It’s frustrating when the genuine, real-world insights get buried under generic AI replies.

I think what we all miss most is that spark of personal experience: the war stories, the trial-and-error hacks, the little details you only get from someone who’s been in the trenches. If everyone defaults to copy-pasting ChatGPT, we lose exactly why BHW was special in the first place....
 
First of all this is so incorrect.

Second, learn to appreciate ChatGPT, because there are people who could be labeled: I'll do anything for likes.

And finally,

Third, take a good look at your avatar.

(in case he changes his avatar, it says Nobody Cares lol)
 
Truly hope something is being worked out, complete topics are ruined with the same repeated replies over and over again.

Depending on the mod, I guess? Some act fast, and it gets removed, while others just reply with AI is allowed.

Nothing wrong with AI, but at least introduce it.

Example;

I have been researching XYZ regarding a new SEO update and AI (Name the AI used) provided me with this info, like at least mix it up use it for statistics as addon.

The service sections seemed to be the absolute worst.

Yes, people will advice to use common sense and I wouldn't go anywhere near a service that has multiple AI replies but the forum is just becoming such a mess.

Oh well, allow this long enough and we can rename it BHWAI

Imagine being a fucking loser that uses ChatGPT just to advertise your product in the signature related to the section you post in. :oops:

I am more annoyed when they use ChatGPT to analyze the thread and create a reply based on other people's posts, suggesting what others suggested. Or when they leave all the emoji's ChatGPT used and the bold lettering, like anyone got time to bold out "headers" and add emojis to a forum reply.

However 90% off my reports related to AI posts result in post removals, I can only imagine how many reports they get per day.

It is an issue that needs addressing. We can go many places for answers from AI. But I, and presumably, most others, come to the forum to talk to actual people, and not to be fed machine-spewed malarkey.

Yes we are doing a lot of things, we remove spammers whenever we see them, the thing is that there are so many. They login only to warm up their accounts trying to leave a seed and disappear, that's why they are so hard to find.
But everyone has the same pattern, they try to be like us, Superfly!

I will get even worse.Google is putting AI responses in almost every search query killing CTR to real websites.This AI nonsense will make the dead Internet theory a reality.AI models will be vomiting to each other content no need for publishers anymore.Back to 9 to 5 jobs.Cutting grass for money is not bad job.

I think this is a problem that need to be addressed by BHW mods, however, it's not true that half of the current content is botted. I would say that 5-10% of comments are generated by AI, maybe even less.

Many of them can be easily reported and mods take action, sometimes they delete, sometimes they read and think that the comment is valid. If you feel that a comment is useless and spammy, take action and report it, do your part to help this community, we can't just wait for mods to do all the job, it's a huge forum and many AI comments can be written without they even notice that, which is totally normal.

1. Yes, AI content is allowed. People choosing to use it still has to follow ALL of the forum rules. If you think they're breaking the forum rules, please report them and we'll take a look.

2. There have been some ideas mentioned here. I will jot them down for when the topic next arises internally.

3. The ignore feature is fantastic.

4. If you see someone posting wildily inaccurate information report it WITH PROOF. So if you're an expert in the topic and know the info is wrong, you should be able to give us links showing us why they're posting wrong information.

We're not ignoring you guys but as Damien and other staff has mentioned, AI is here to stay. We all have to learn to adapt and work with it. We're figuring out what that means for BHW so you need to be a little more patient. We hear you, we see your threads about it, we see your reports (and seriously, thank you for them - even if rejected they're not a waste of time, trust me on that).
