Actually most internet chess sites use an algo to catch cheating players for tournament and pick up games. Happens way to often.

Even tournaments that are held in person are monitored for cheating. Some people would disappear to the bathroom (or some other area) frequently to consult their friendly computer chess program. They would come back to the table and proceed to destroy their opponent.

For reference use your favorite search engine and check out GM Igors Rausis.

If I remember correctly, I think in most tournaments you start out with one color and the next round you play the other color. And you keep flipping the colors every round till the end.

So if it's a 10 round tournament you end up playing black and white 5 times.

Errm, can't that clash then? Two players might end up having the same color that way. Unless there's a scheme which will ensure that this does not happen.

Yeah there is a scheme that does this. If you have an even number of players this works out fine. If you have an odd number of players then someone would get a bye which is equal to 1/2 a point or a draw.

On the even number of players, half would have white on the next round those same players would have black. Oh and you're always matched against someone who is playing the opposite color.

Ofcourse, and I would love to see him as a moderator rofl (if he has time for it though). If he keeps the money for us, and does the toss; it will be fairplay. Nobody is getting any actual money in hand, so it shouldn't be too hard. It's all about donating to a charity ultimately, and who could be a better judge than the owner? ;)

As for charity type, I strongly recommend wikipedia or archive.org. They have been serving us for a loooong looong time. They deserve some donations for sure.

It was a great idea and shit idea all in one time. It was great because I love chess! On the other hand, it's shit because you would loose your BTC and you would cry and cry you got your ass kicked in less then 5 minutes.

Can I get an AMEN to that!
