RANT coming here, please read:
I have noticed that there is a lot of appreciation
and acknowledgement of the work done by sharers, mods and contributors, and I feel the need to comment on this from my personal perspective, because IMHO it is an often overlooked issue.
Yes, it is right and proper that contributions from many members here are acknowledged, thanked and reps given
when applicable. This actually serves as a REAL motivator, and gives a sense of satisfaction to the person who
has contributed. After all, they have taken time out of THEIR busy schedule to share (often top quality) information
with YOU at no cost to you, so at the least you could do is press the ?thanks? button or the ?give rep? where you feel it is justified.
This simple task fosters the community spirit of BHW, and encourages others to contribute more and more.
Moreover, on the more popular threads, YOU have a responsibility to use these buttons as you see fit,
and not to clog up the threads with an ?awesome share?, or ?downloading it now?, or ?thanks OP? - which
for the uninitiated stands for Original Post(er), or something similar. It gets frustrating for other members to
have to scroll down through a lot of these posts, (which really do not add value to the discussion occurring
on the thread at that time), just to seek the more relevant posts which indicate the updates, comments,
reviews, tips and tricks etc... which have much more relevance, and thus increases the overall effectiveness
and efficiency of the thread.
Also, constructive criticism is welcomed, but please do not make it a personal attack on another member,
rather you should aim to increase the value of the thread by posting your own viewpoint in an objective manner.
By doing this, you will not de-motivate and destroy the chances of other members attempting to do and say something positive.
Before anyone thinks that this is some sort of an ?elite club? where only some members share and exchange ideas,
let me advise you that the more you interact and contribute, the more you will get out of it i.e. the more you will
gain from being a member here in BHW.
BHW is NOT an ?old boys club? where everyone gets the chance to pat each other on the back etc....
BHW is however, a thriving community of like minded people who are will to share ideas, discuss tactics and tips,
and many other stuff, the benefit of which will be maximized by the individual members by contributing and getting
involved more themselves. So, if you feel that you have something to say, and then let your voice be heard in the
appropriate part of the forum. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone?s? opinion matters. Often the comments and reviews
are actually are good as, or even more worthwhile than the actual product shares, so please do not feel left out or
left behind because you may feel that you have nothing to share. You do, and that?s where the REAL value is IMHO.
Although this post might actually feel like it is a sales letter for BHW, it is not intended to be such; rather it is an
earnest attempt to get more members more active, by participating and contributing, whilst doing everything in both
the fashion (rules and regulations etc...) and the spirit of BHW.
It is indeed a privilege to be a member of the best Black Hat Forum in the world, so I would appeal to all members
to treat it with the respect it so richly deserves.
