So when you are trying to build backlinks, when people say,

blast your Web 2.0 pages (ie. using xrumer senuke or scrapebox), how exactly does that help your main website?

If I understand, a Web2.0 page is just a random page with your "main website" url in it, so if you blast that web2.0 page,

your main site automatically gets ranked higher?

To make it simple:
The Web 2.0s transfer linkjuice through the link to Your main site so it ranks better.

i had this confusion too...

but this is what i have observed...

main site > web2.0 >>>>>>>>>>>>> backlinks

that mean.. if a backlink is there on a web 2.0 site directing to ur main site then it has some value..
but if that web2.0 page is more popular in search engines and has its own backlinks then that means u have a stronger backlink from a popular web2.0 page to ur main site... which obviously is better for your main site.

im not sure about this concept, but this is what i understood on my own research.

Your site ranks higher if it gets backlinks from sites which google sees as quality sites.

So if your web 2.0 sites get many backlinks google thinks many people like them -> If a site which gets backlinks from many people (in your case only from you with xrumer etc.) links to your money site your money site have to be good.

thanks for clearing that up, i was always confused about this concept, but now I understand it more ... so this is not just for Web2.0 pages I am assuming,

any pages that has your link in it, if you blast it, you get juice? Ie. Youtube videos, even your Xrumer profile links etc...

You should make your links in your web 2.0 properties contextual if at all possible and relevant. Let's say my keyword was blue dresses. I wouldn't just make a Squidoo lense about iPads and have a link to my blue dress page. I would make a lense about dresses in general or fashion or something related where a contextual link with the anchor text of blue dresses would fit naturally. I would have try for one contextual link to my homepage of the money site and one contextual link to an internal page, with different anchor text for the two links. Maybe "blue dress" for the homepage and "buy a blue dress" for the internal page.

By making your web 2.0 properties, you have the control to make relevant links to your site, not just some random unrelated blog or forum with your link in the comment or profile.

Then blast everything with anything you've got access to (AMR, BMD, Scrapebox, SENukeX, Xrumer, etc.)
