O.k. - I've used CS for over a year and have only moved the "license" maybe once in that time. Recently, I have moved from a local machine to a VPS. It took me several providers to find a suitable VPS. This of course required me to move the licensing for all of my SEO tools multiple times. Most of the tools allow me to move the license myself or a simple email to the developer quickly gets it reset so I can re-install it. Save but one:

Mikey, at Captcha Sniper, apparently now charges you to move your copy of CS to another machine. $10 a pop. Here is his reply email to my request:

"Actually this normally incurs a $10 fee L
"

To which I replied:

Are you serious!?!?

And Mikey, again:

"Yes, be warned .. ill let it slide this time"
Then my final reply to him:

"
Hey "Mikey",

Keep your bullshit software. I don't need you to "let it slide" or do me any favors. No where on your website or any other documentation do I see anything that says you'll be charged for simply moving your software to another machine. I bought Captcha Sniper originally over a year ago and then just bought another license a few days ago. I use many tools and ALL of them either allow me to move it myself or the developer happily resets the license. Your antiquated methods for updates and licensing are nauseating.

Good day to your Sir."

So, if you use this crap software, be "warned" if you decide to grow your business and need to make changes, you'll be charged.

GSA Captcha Breaker has usage limits but no extraneous fees tacked on for moving to a different computer (if you're now looking for alternatives).

I have, and use GSA CB. Until yesterday, I only used CB with GSA SER. I now use it (very successfully) with GSA SER & NHSEO. CB, in my opinion, is way faster than CS and you can freely use it and move it at will.

I don't know of any usage limits, what are they specifically with Captcha Breaker?

I think you just can't open two GSA licenses at the same time. There is no computer-specific stuff (I don't think, I may be wrong).

oh, right. As far as I know, all GSA software can be run on as many machines as you like, just one instance per machine. That's the only limit I know of.

Wow im really shocked to hear this. Love captchasniper so far!

I liked it a lot until I got Captcha Breaker. For me, it is WAY faster and seems to solve even more captchas. Plus, it has much more flexibility, is updated regularly and you can run it on as many computers as you like, without having to pay an extra $10 ;)

is it written in their TOS they could charge you for relicense? If it is.. then i don't see anything wrong in here..

how many times did u move the CS licence in 1 month ?

That's the exact problem. I can't find it anywhere in the TOS.

now thats a problem indeed and it is unfair to charge you hidden fees that are nowhere listed in their TOS or website

but if they have a rule like "you can relicense your software once a month" and you tried to relicense multiple times in a month, then it is certainly clear that for multiple relicense attempts it is most likely to be charged a fee

This was going to be the second move in about a weeks time. Through no fault of my own. I had a few VPS's I tried that simply did not work. In trying those I DID NOT try to move CS because I already knew it was a pain in the ass. When I finally found a VPS that I thought would work. I had the license transferred (without issue) and actually purchased an additional license because I was getting 2 VPS's. After just a few days, the VPS's were running slow and so, I had them upgraded with SSD's (I highly recommend by the way) which caused me to have to have the licenses (both of them now, the new one and the older one) renewed as the OS was being reinstalled, albeit on the 'same' machine, it was still a new install. That's when I got the responses above.

Either way, it's a bullshit policy, if it actually exists.... It's the only SEO software I have that causes this much frustration. The rest of them I can freely move them around without issue or additional cost.

They're probably in need of money or too many people are making too many moves. I'd say at the most is limit the number of moves to 10 moves a year.

its no good to hide some fees somewhere in the tos which nobody will figure out before needing it.

Actually the same thing happened to me. I was running it on a VPS needed to transfer it and the dude tried to charge me for another licence. My answer (in so many words) "ill get me coat". Wouldn't use it again.

Thanks for the warning. I won't need to install it to anywhere else anytime soon though :)

That was not part of the deal when I bought it... You cant sell a product and years later come up with excesses to add another fee.

Scrapebox also allow only 1 move per month..after of this you have to pay or just wait until the next month :(
