Beware if you downloaded

This is why I recently switched to a Mac. :)

Thanks for this at least we know the BHW admin are looking out for us. Someone posted a OKCupid bot recently. when I tried to run it, Norton 360 said that the program was acting suspiciously. Don't know if it's anything... just thought I would mention it.

if you use firefox as your main browser, and save your passwords using its built in feature

set a master password in tools>options

this should stop some firefox password stealers from getting your pw's but it wont stop a keylogger or rat obviously

say,, the trojan is binded and crypted with an runtime and scantime crypter

then if u scan with virustotal atleast for one day it will remain same ,,untill it informs AV companies

the best advice would be grab a Sandboxie it is free for 30 days and u will never have problems of trojans that are undetectable

secondaly,, donot download keygens/patches of any program all are crypted with there ppi programs :D

rather choose a free alternative

Unfortunately my Vista Machine crashed a few days ago, discovered 3 worms on it.
I have downloaded stuff from the downloads section that interested me.

I cannot honestly say that any of the viruses came from anything I downloaded from BHW as all my downloads are scanned but something entered my machine, then again I do download music, maybe came from one of the music sites.

Still managed to recover all my files/folders by running a linux disc and then saving all the files/folders to the external drive.

Vista is going in the bin and linux will be running on it instead.
Luckily I have the old XP Machine as a back up.
I will be more vigilant. :)

I'm also thinking about moving to a unix os and perhaps run xp/win7 virtualized. There is some much malware around that's really very hard to impossible to get rid off.

I've been running keygens in a vm, but sometimes the malware is also in the program installer. Sandboxie is a real good way to keep your browsing experience clean, you just have to take half an hour and configure it right, but there are many tutorials on the net.

I run Webroot Spysweeper and never have problems.

One feature i like is the ability to right click any file and scan it individually.

Also, run sometype of sandbox like Sandboxie or VM ware.

One other handy tool is Key Scrambler firefox addon. it scrambles your logins at the kernel level and should protect you against most keyloggers.

Cheers

lol. Do you have any idea how long it takes us to approve just the BSTs/Services never mind everything in the downloads section. We would need to hire about 50 more staff just for that job alone.

Yep I think making it need an approval is needed. I am up to do the work. Or better yet. we set up a site that you have to do your post to that BHW scanns the file and then post it to BHW.

Example. User would go to BHW-postdownload. Here they would put in there user name and password then select which thread they want it posted to. then put the link for the download and then the content they wanted posted.

Then the system would scan the file and then post to the BHW thread once it passes the test.

just an idea. and yes it can be done.
