So is it better to create more pages in wordpress or posts?

    Or does it not matter?

no, they just created pages instead of posts. like 45 of them. If it doesnt matter I am going to keep it the same. If it matters I am going to redo their site and make the pages into posts.

I dont think it matters from an seo point of view. It might make a difference from a site architecture point of view. If the site looks fine and makes sense then theres no problem. If it does look suspect then I am sure you can copy/paste for an afternoon and change pages to posts(making sure your url structure is the same)

A page should be a static or sticky. Posts are just updates the sort of thing you put up three times a week.

You can use pages to put posts on and do other things. So a page is superior in terms of flexibility yet a post has a date that will show up in results, and is easier to update with content.
