Focusing on one market is better. Shipping times vary depending on countries that means more headache. If you're successful in your domestic market you can consider moving on to other regions.
The broad concept of dropshipping is finding any big manufacturer (usually in China) who can deliver your product to any part of the world (usually any big first tier country).
If you've found an idea to make money in your own country go for it OP, there's no one size fits all or rules when it comes to making money.
i tried them both with fb and google ads.
-local dropshipping:
less competition less money to make.
low entry barrier
-international dropshipping:
more competition and more money to make.
high entry barrier in terms of advertising expenses.
some of my friends are still doing international drop shipping and it's going quite well for them using ig marketing.
