Better than Hostgator?

Right now, I'm using hostgator for my sites and they've been ok. Just looking to see if someone can recommend a better hosting company for a similiar price?

Hostgator is ok. What do you want in terms of features? I think it will be better if you try out Bluehost. They are good as far as I heard from a few friends.

I'd say Hostgator is the best web hosting despite all the commercial searches that comes up in search engines for the keyword "best web hosting".

^^Yea , I've tried a few other hosting company's but nothing beats hostgator as far as shared hosting goes.

I've been browsing around looking for hosting too, and Hostgator is the one that's the most recommended. If you want a little hosting diversity, look into Hawkhost and Stablehost as well they're both pretty good.

Hostwinds! They rock! BHW is hosted on their servers. I have a few sites with them.

currently i'm using hostwinds.

but i've used and would recommend the 3 h's of hosting: hostgator, hostwinds, or hawkhost.

I've used 1and1 and would recommend staying away from them.. I could rant about them for 3 paragraphs. but I'll just leave it at that.

I'm really only with hostwinds at the moment because I applied a coupon that's making it cheaper then the other 2.. but I think they're all 3 great to be honest.

1and1 is really the worse company for IMers. they will eventually stab you in the back to make you pay the X free months you had at first.

I will skip the self promotion part, and give you my regular old consumers opinion

1) hostgator (reliable big company)
2) b-webhost (excellent policy)

dude.. i recommend hostwinds i use it on almost all of my site.. and the service is extremely good.. not like hostgator that there a lot of limitations.. but hostwinds is working fine for your blackhat needs..

Nearly all hosting companies are better than HostGator.

What are your requirements?

Do you need support or just simple shared hosting?

I've been using Hostgator for nearly 7 years, no complaints at all and I own dozens of websites and have clients on my server as well. Excellent customer support, live chat 24/7 365 and they have helped me with more then just hosting questions. I was having an issues with WP once and the guy helped me for 20 min haha. Highly recommended.

Nothing really beats Hostgator really...their prices are reasonable, hardly any downtime at all (only noticed downtime 2 or 3 in 3 years and was only for like an hour at the most), great customer support.

HawkHost, StableHost and BlueHost seem like decent alternatives. But I would really recommend Hostgator.

Have to concur with other posters. Ive used Hostgator for 4 years and I cant fault them...maybe theres other services you require that I dont but for me Hostgator is excellent. 1and1 is the worst crap on the net by the way

Depends on what you need. If you need shared hosting I think almost everyone offers the same of everything.. comes down to preference really.

hostgator is the best (including their support).
I also use Hawk host and pretty much satisfied with them!

Hostgator is good one I think.... Since Long years I am using it.

I also suggest other one :- SKYNET HOSTING

ugh. I'm getting a hard time getting in BHW because the forum is usually down for awhile 1-2 times a day and the loading is quite slow compared to other sites so I don't think this is a good sign for me to consider Hostwinds tbh.
