Hi BHWers,

I have been a lurker of this forum for around 10 years now.
There are so many great ideas on this site but I'm one of those over thinkers and not a doer
I have tried a couple of things but none have worked out. I was thinking about just making a blog site for food recipes as I enjoy cooking, and try to monetize it with ads and a couple of affiliate links? Maybe a throw a couple of quizzes in there too.

Could this be quite profitable or is it saturated to shreds now? It would be a bit of a hobby, and if I can make some beer money at the same time then even better

Anyone else had any success with simple blogging/ads?

Why not. You'll write about what you love to do and with some social media marketing, you can make decent $$$.

Everything is saturated, because everything works.

Thanks, I've got nothing to lose. I was also considering a car blog as I have an IG account with 40k followers. I haven't posted on in for a few years and posted a pic yesterday which was seen by 8k people with 700 likes, so could be some decent traffic there.

Sure and perhaps once I'm happy with how it is, move onto/try the car blog as well.

All the best, you can even start 2 blogs, one for food recipes and another on cars, just mange your time and take action

Unique content is never saturated I set a new goal recently to myself to write 1 blog every 3 days.

Welcome! Well, it’s not a welcome if you’ve been here all these years — you’re like a veteran! Anyway, I think your site idea is unique, at least I don’t know of any blogs that combine the cooking niche and have quizzes as well. I’m sure you’ll do great. As for the success with ads and blogging, a bunch of people here have successfully launched and monetized their sites. Check out the blogging section and the sales writing and persuasion sections of the forum.
