Hey folks,

I would like to look on BHW for beta testers of my upcoming saas, but if im not wrong it would be against the rules of beta testing section:

Do not include links in your post to off-site forms to collect user's information, email opt-ins, or any other mechanism used to harvest user information.

Its not possible to give beta tester access to web saas application without sharing a link. Excluding sign up part from beta testing process by providing beta tester dummy account (just to not collect emails) could be an option, but all errors/problems found in signup process by beta testers would be very valuable info.

Is there any way in my case to not break the rules?
I could (probably) try to list my saas in marketplace, but I dont want to do that because its still beta, not ready for anything except testing.
Maybe $30 fee should be introduced in beta testing section with an option to post a link to off-site forms?

Ummm interesting view.

The point of Beta testing is that it's open to all - you can't charge for it and you can't list build. So testing your sign up process would still be considered list building.

As you quote the link relates to collecting data linking to the service is fine as long as you remove the registration process - which is simple to do in most backends. Whilst "it would be useful" it's not an option to circumvent the marketplace rules and use it for list building.

Explained in greater detail here.

Hope this helps. Essentially the answer is no there isn't a way to test your registration process without breaking the rules - other than using the Hire a Freelancer section and ask for someone to test the registration process.
