Beta product free giveaway on BHW?

Hey, I don't have any experience regarding the sales on BHW. I'm creating a product (will reveal soon) that's usable but not fully ready to launch yet IMO. I want to giveaway access to the product for free so the people may use that for some time.
Do I need to create a paid Sales Thread on BHW to distribute that?
Or can I do that without a paid Sales Thread?
