I manage the internet marketing and advertising for a company here in NY, and there is an ungodly amount of Yelp reviews that are being filtered from their Yelp page. Keep in mind that NONE of these are fake. This company does a lot of business and gets reviews at a good rate, but there are more reviews filtered than there are live. They still have a good amount of live reviews (one of the best in the niche, actually), but damn, more than 50% of real reviews are filtered.

Any other rep managers or online marketing managers care to share their Yelp tips and practices?

I don't really have any advice, but can concur with your findings. Yelp is seriously flawed. Real reviews get filtered, fake reviews are all over the place.

I do not see any pattern. It looks like more randomly. And of course more chance get filtered if account has just few reviews.

I like to think that Yelp has some algorithm as Google so they should be doing something wrong like:

    - Visiting the Yelp page directly without any interaction
    - Not enough time on Yelp
    - No mobile interaction, app not installed
    - Bookmarks, reviews, comments,no friends, no photos, etc.. poor profile
    - Yelp deals not purchased
    - Email not confirmed, not getting emails...

Even if you are real Yelp might be failing, their algorithm isn't smart.
