What are the best and simple WordPress Statistics plugins?

I don't like to use Google Analytics.

I use WPStatistics free version, it suits me and the results usually match Analytics. It filters bot traffic/others so you can know your real data.

There is a Matomo Stats plugin for WP that works almost the same as the standalone version. Works pretty neat.

I think using the plugin means I'm self-hosting it on my WordPress site. I just read that on their website.

Yeah you won't go wrong with that. I am happy with the realtime analytics even on mobile app. Been ranting about Google Analytics for months. Now I ditched GA for Matomo.

etracker is nice because for european sites you can use it without cookie manager. so your visitors dont have to accept cookie banner and its complete dsgvo.
