I was using the free "proxy cache" plugin for a wordpress site, but it doesnt update to the live site for new visitors automatically (at least not the image)

Question: what is the best free/paid wp plugin for speeding up a website (image compression, proper cache, etc)?
Needs to be available in the Festinger Vault if its paid. Looking for something which will speed up the site too.

The only images on the site are a background on the main page and some images in the blog posts.

I use the following combination
  1. Flying Scripts by WP Speed Matters
  2. LiteSpeed Cache (I'm hosted on a Litespeed Server)
  3. Bunny.net (BunnyCDN)
For image compression, I use tinyjpg

Why so much? Surely one plugin would do it all - as the results after the first compression are always diminishing.
I'm not looking to use a CDN, though. Is there a recently updated, good plugin for making scripts/images/cache faster in one?

WP-Optimize

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it

I don't use all the features on litespeed cache for starters (like the img compression)
and Flying Scripts delay certain scripts while litespeed for cache.
On the flip side, my sites are super fast despite using "3" plugins optimization plugins

WP Super Cache
WP Super Cache plugin includes all recommended caching features that you will need to speed up your website. This includes gzip compression, page cache, cache pre-loading, CDN support, advanced-cache preload, and more.

WP Super Cache for me as well.

Just in case ur obsessed by speed i would like to nudge u to not be like it's too critical to reach a specific point.

Few of my websites have descent speed n don't have any plugin for that but did nothing special when I did try to boost speed.

LiteSpeed Cache is highly recommended if you are on litespeed server. If you are getting heavy traffic then you should ditch shared hosting and move to vps

+1 for Litespeed cache server, you can also use wp-rocket, I would also recommend to test your site on gtmetrix and follow the recommendations.
Optimizing your wordpress site needs some human interaction too.

WP rocket :)

I have tried LS cache , Wp page speed ninja ( It breaks the whole site ). WP rocket works best.

Apache with Nginx for server-side caching, LiteSpeed or OpenLiteSpeed are even better,
WP Rocket for client-side caching, HTML/CSS/JS compression/minifying and pics/JS lazyloading,
Smush pro for images optimising,
Memcached along with Memcached Redux to cache/speed up Php/server requests

There's no good plugin that would do that all in one with the same approx results,
Having all of these installed won't slow down your website, only plugins that do add some heavy front-end requests/codes or/and backend requests will do so

Use short-pixel for image compression
WP rocket will tweak the rest.
