Hope this is the right thread.

I am starting out in native advertising (Taboola, Revcontent) and is struggling to find a good wordpress theme.

I want a simple theme that looks like a newspaper (but obviously isn't). Can anyone recommend me a good theme for this? Or should I use another software too build the website?

OP, Why don't you use newspaper theme sir.
 
You can go with Publisher theme from betterstudio. It is nice theme and works great for you.

Checked out the themes and they are to complex for my purpose.

Basically, I just want it to be one page and look like a newspaper, not be an actual newspaper.

It doesn't even have to look like a newspaper, I will just add a header that says "magazine", then add menus that says "health, finance, news" etc. so it looks like news.

I want it to be extremely simple. Can anyone recommend a theme / tool for making this?

Thrive themes is the way to go. It mostly comes blank, which means you can use Thrive Architect to customize it.

They do have a theme builder, too, I think
 
A lot of people recommend Thrive, ive been using it a lot. Tbh i wouldnt recommend it. Not custumizable enough and thumbnails are full size pictures etc, makes site slow. Dont like it that much.

I think some theme that supports elementor would be ur best bet.
