Whats up guys, who is the best website host to use at the moment? I would like to create a cheap wordpress website for my music. I have been looking at the bhw forums and alot of the threads suggest a website called Hostgator? I am also going to use a Themeforest template (Unless theres cheaper alternatives out there) and I have seen some people complain about Hostgator so I don't no who to use. Who should I go with?

Every time a threads pops us like this one, my reply is same always.
I've used half-dozen host now and I recommend SiteGround and Mddhosting to all. Even heard stablehost is pretty good.

First of all, it depends what you want to do with your music and the kind of website you want. Are you planning on selling it, have people come over to listen to it, just have a simple artist page, etc.
If you plan on attracting listeners by SEO (good luck with that for music) or to have a lot of different pages, yes you might be able to build something on Wordpress. But if you are asking about hosting, I assume you don't have a lot of experience with WordPress so it might take you a while to build the site.
Regardless, for hosting, I would stay away of any company listed here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endurance_International_Group
If you only want to put your demo and have something simple, you could look into other platforms such as soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/)
Because most of your traffic will most likely come from Social Media, Friends, referrals, etc. My recommendation, would be to spend less time building a nice site and instead building a simple soundcloud profile, then spend the time you would have spent on building the website to promote your music instead. You should see a lot more benefits that way.

I read about Inmotion which is cheap as well has good review.Give one try to that one to test the water.

Also, don't forget to build a Youtube Channel, it helps a lot when people can see you and YouTube is the second largest search engine after Google. It's bigger than bing.
So just create your Youtube channel and link it to Soundcloud. And link Soundcloud to Youtube.
Then promote the **** out of it:

I do have a lot of experience with that company. I have a reseller account with Hostnine (19$/month) and a Cloud VPS (60$/month) and I also have shared hosting accounts with hostgator, Blue Host, Hostmonster and Dreamhost so I have quite a bit of experience with hosting companies.
But I decided recently to move to wiredtree for what I needed.
Again, it all depends on your needs. If it's only for a music website, it's not worth getting a host. Just go the free version with Wix or Wordpress.com. If you want to have more than 1 site, yes you might want to try them out.

I thought Hostwinds was good so bought a business plan.... I don't have big sites there. Its been a month or so my site goes down every next day atleast for few minutes. I even sent a ticket but they haven't done anything much till now.
Yes they have quiet good customer care... but contacting support agent now and then doesn't feel good.
Just my experience. Avoid Hostwinds from my point of view.

100% not trying to be a dick but I can tell you that the years I spent promoting my music on-line haunt me when I realised how easy it is to actually network in real life.
Create a soundcloud / youtube / bandcamp, write good music, get it on the radion, play live.
forget the internet unless you are super hot.

I haven't had good experiences before with Hotwinds, would not recommend it.
