Best Web2.0 To Publish To....

A few months back I created about 15 blogs in my niche at wordpress.com. Not having read the terms of service I put in my affiliate link pretty much everywhere on the sites I built. Unique content and lots of affiliate links. Well they cranked for a month and I made a very large grip of cash. My best month ever! Well, needless to say Wordpress.com found my blogs due to the traffic they were getting and cut me dry deleting my account and sites.

No worries I did not know but understand why they did. My theory is move on and don't sweat it.

At any rate I would like to try this technique again as it was so successful except I do not want to do it again with wordpress.

So what site would you use and which site do you find the most effective for generating traffic? Hubpages, squidoo, wetpaint, vox, opera, blogger or some other I am missing? There are so many web2.0 easy to build sites and blog platforms out there just have no idea which one tends to rank the best in google and therefore drive the most traffic.

Anyone with experience and ideas I would appreciate the suggestions!

I have been using hubpages with some good success but not as well since they have lot of restrictions on what can be published and how many affiliate links you can use etc. So I am looking to expand to another service also.

Howie Schwarts's techniques and resources are great for publishing to Web 2.0 (Social Media) sites. Just make sure you don't do crappy pages like he does.

hey Wiz- I have watched a few of Howies videos. However it often seems to recommend a bunch of different web2.0 services. I am already doing a lot with hubpages and have my own domain set up and generating traffic but I would like to expand to something else. I have been debating sites like wetpaint, blogger, and etc.

According to alexa rankings if they can be trusted at all it looks like blogger.com generates the most traffic and pageviews versus the other domains. Any specific suggestions from experience?

One of the things Howie points out is that if there is already a hub, squidoo, wetpaint, ect site ranking in Goog for a keyword, then the chances of getting a new blog on the same site ranked again for the same keyword is difficult. That is why he says to spread your sites across many web 2.0 properties, you have a better chance of getting ranked if the site is not already showing up in the SERPS for your keyword. But go ahead and build on those sites that are already ranking for your keyword, you can always use the back links and you might still get ranked for your keyword. Google is always looking for new, fresh content.

Always mix up all your campaigns and web 2.0 properties as you will find that they will jump around and change all the time on the rankings. Good point movieman32, always check out the competition and see what they are ranking for and slip your way in with a different web 2.0 site.

From my experience squidoo,hubpages and ezine articles rank really really well in Google,although a lot of people wore talking about the squidoo slap last year I still find it easy to rank if we are talking about keywords that have less than 300 000 results.Blogspot could be a great option too since its a Google service and it usually ranks higher because they want to promote it.Same things goes for you tube videos btw.You could also try services like zimbio and scibd.
