Hi,
i am a newbie too and am trying to understand how to go about creating a website. i have both Artisteer and Xsite pro 2. What i am trying to understand is that how does one customize websites created on these software into SEOfriendly ones (that adsense ready or alternatively ads prepared).
All help will be appreciated
Hi mate. I can help you with Artisteer. Other members perhaps can give you tips with Xsite pro.
With artisteer, you can create templates (for Joomla) and themes (for WordPress).
Now if you're trying to create a template and want to integrate your adsense, you have to do this:
1. first decide which adsense size would you want to place in your websites? choices are like 336x280, 300x250, 468x60,728x90, 160x600, etc. which are all measured in pixel (px)
2. decide how many columns would you want your site to have? choices are plane simple single clomun, 2 columns (the body and only one of either the left or right column/widget), and 3 columns (the body, the left column and the right column).
3. decide which placement would you want your adsense be placed? choices are the body or the side column or both.
example of a two column template. the body and the right column:
- if you want a 728x90 adsense inside your body, you need to have a 1000px width sheet. or to make it show a little of your background, make it 962px, (you less 962 with 728 you get 234) now your right column must be adjusted to 234px or as is anything that is not below 160px or so in order to fit also a 160x600 skyscraper ad on the side.
4. now when you're done with the template/theme, all you have to do is export it
- for wordpress - export it as folder and upload it to the theme folder of your site
-for joomla - export it as zip file. and use your back-end to install it in the extension, Install/Uninstall Menu and set it as default template.
now with regards to inserting the adsense codes, you can insert it manually if you know how. but there is also a plugin you need to install for adsense to work as simple as you want it. With joomla, there is also a module you need to install to get your adsense running anywhere in your module positions and even within your content.
Test it. If you fail, modify it. Test it again. Until you'll have the template you'll like.
Good tainted!
