I'm looking for the best web 2.0 alternatives to squidoo/hubpages, what are other web 2.0s blogs that rank very well on search engines currently?

even i have a similar thread opened but did not get proper answer so interested to see answer , i have settled with hubpages for time being as squidoo is difficult for me

all I have done is search for the past 2 days but I still dont have a clear answer

I would suggest blogspot.com as it's google product.

I am seeing many weebly and blogspot blogs ranking for decent keywords.

Yeah I have messed with blogspot a lot, but for some reason I can't get blogspot to rank easily for long tail keywords, where say squidoo I can easily rank sometimes without any backlinks. Why might that be? Doesnt blogspot have equal or greater page rank than squidoo? So does it have something to do with blogspot pages not being as naturally optimized with on page seo?

blogspot uses subdomains which are treated like new web sites with very little authority where as squidoo uses pages which potentially passes more authority...

I have a Do follow web 2.0 list most of them rank well in search engine for a medium level keywords.

Some of these sites are dead.

Ok, after working extensively with web 2.0s, let me share my experiences.

Links coming from these domains have the highest scores in backlink checkers and can rank easier:

1. Wordpress.com
2. Blogspot.com

If you are looking for links that push more PR/link juice then choose web 2.0s that do not let you put a SUBDOMAIN (yoursite.site.com) but rather a tier 3 or tier 4 inner page (site.com/tier1/tier2/tier3).

I use BMD top 100 web 2.0s. If you want better results, filter sites by PR and use only web 2.0s with PR1+. :)

I'm a little confused so blogspot.com can have its pages ranked easy but they don't pass juice to other pages well? But others say squidoo ranks better because its doesnt have a subdomain? Idk what to think. What is the next best alternative to squidoo? I'm trying to find this alternative to rank its pages with, not to use for backlinks.

many useful ideas, i have tried web 2.0 before, many of them have been deleted for using the spun content

Let me give you this advice, not only for web 2.0s for SEO in general.

New subdomains start out with 0 links which mean the PR is still N/A or PR0 when indexed.

Inner pages start out with 0 links but still get value from the overall links that the whole site is getting. Perhaps it may start out with PR0 depending on the site authority but high PR domain sites could easily mean that it is A LOT EASIER to make it a PR1 or PR2 compared to a subdomain.

So basically, inner pages can be ranked easier because the homepage easily passes of the link juice but usually, you can customize it less and the website can easily put down your page. On the other hand, subdomains like blogspot and wordpress easily let you customize the blog and make it good-looking which can convert better which makes them a better choice for converting sites.

ok gotcha, well I guess I'm looking for a network similar to squidoo that makes your pages/posts inner pages rather than subdomains ?

ok gotcha, well I guess I'm looking for a network similar to squidoo that makes your pages/posts inner pages rather than subdomains ?

It depends on a lot of factors basically sorted through these questions:

1. The traffic might come easier since you can rank easier the inner page like Squidoo but do they convert well or they actually click through the images/call to action buttons?

2. Are you willing to invest much time ranking inner pages only to see the site be put down or your SERP be affected by the changes done to the domain's authority?

3. Do you want more customization/ability to edit banners so that conversion can be higher?
