best way to trace e-mail address?

Quick question.
Having an issue w/ a scumbag that has repeatedly accessed and charged my CC.

this particular card has been cancelled and number changed 4 x now.

yet somehow this individual is able to access the number, security code and everything else that goes with it.

and has been charging magazine subscriptions of all things.

Now the subscription service won't cancel or refund.

my bank has had little luck all around on this either.

So back to my question, I have the offender's e-mail address that was used to place the actual order. How do I track him down?

any positive feedback appreciated.

First. That email im sure he is using it just for frauds so there is no way to find him like this .

Second. If you changed ur card number 4 times, im sure u have a keylogger somewhere.

ADVICE: Make a clean install of ur PC first and dont bother to track the guy, you cant.

brand new system, just out of the box the computer is a fortress

plus I don't use these systems here for online purchases or exchanging any personal info etc.

I have a special one, that's encrypted for that very reason.

like you said I'm sure he's bouncing with that e-mail.

I just wanted to go all BH on him
 
The email address he is using i agree is most likely not connected to him except bu the ip he used when he signed up.

Everyone Gmail Craigslist Yahoo etc. record the ip when you sign up. He can be traced that way if he used his isp. If he was smart he used a public computer on a public ip or at least a good proxie.

Don't waste time trying to trace his mail, find & fix your data leak.

Is the CC connected to the same email account?

Have you considered that it's someone you know? Your wife? Brother? Etc...
 
I am sure you can do something with the ip address from the email?
 
easiest thing is probably to search using the email and any other info you have about him and see if his name/email appears anywhere else that way you might be able to build some sort of profile.
If the address is used only for that venture, then you may as well give up on that line of investigation.

I think a better angle might be to trace how/where he is getting those details - as others pointed out, he must be getting your card info from somewhere - either key-logger, or access to your physical address or he is impersonating you - find this out and you will probably trace him that way!!

Fraudulent e-mailers can't not be found. Don't response ever to there spammers, n future.
 
I'd recommend sending an email back to him from another email, put a pic in there, that's on your site, so you can log his ip, then trace the IP to service provider, send service provider subpena for the ip info, cause there has been some cc fraud traced to it
 
How about asking the magazine company for the name/address they're mailing the magazine to? They should be able to tell you... maybe there is some code in the CC charge that they can use to associate with the particular subscription/account... if not your CC number should be enough for them to find the subscription details.

I mean, it's your credit card after all, no? They should be able to tell you who's getting the magazine that you're paying for.

Some social hacking might be in order... "You know, Ashley... I want to buy another subscription for my uncle but I forgot who I bought the current one for and I don't want to buy another one for the same person so I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me who is receiving this one". Tell them you forgot the e-mail that is associated with your account or don't have access to it anymore because you were hacked :D
 
Trying to reverse search is possible however, like others have said if you have already taken the steps you have and still have the problem them I have to believe that this person wouldn't be stupid enough to use their own email address. However that being said there are a lot of stupid people out there so if you'd like feel free to pm me the email address and I can tell you the information associated with it if any.
