best way to spend $30k?

You should setup a professional looking website with a nice design and template for some product reviews, etc.

Optimize the site with good seo.

Then order prweb.com press releases to get tons of backlinks.

hire a VA to help do research, manually set up campaigns with lots of keywords, make banner ads, help with tracking, etc.

Tracking is the key too paid advertising. Invest in a system that works. You can't optimize without data.

so for MNS, the best way to monetize that would probably be adsense right?

im thinking that if i can a MNS to make about $50 a month, have 200 of them, that will earn me $10000/month aslong as i maintain those rankings.

OMG Please don't take the $30k if you want a lasting relationship with your Uncle!

dude will u fucking keep the investment side out of it????? let me worry about my relationship wiht my uncle...

This thread worries the hell out of me - it's a recipe for disaster. Op - if you've only broken even in previous ventures and you're determined to continue in IM, then look at what made you money and replicate it again and again.
The title of the post "spend $30K" is so obviously written by someone who didn't earn the $30K.
Just be careful - I wish you well. Family money comes with loads of baggage. My gut says take $3,000 and see how that goes first, if you have to.

i agree, im not throwing all 30k into it at once, believe me on that one. im starting small. take maybe $5k of it and see what happens. save the rest for future ventures.

I would do this.

Take the 30K (its not like we can convince you otherwise)

ONLY USE $3k at 1st.

See how it goes with that. You have worked with smaller numbers but just remember to not go crazy with tools, etc.

Run tests, etc. In a month or 2 depending on your results see whether you broke even, made profit or lost money.

If its the 1st 2 then your good, if its the last one then consider giving the money back and having a good relationship with your uncle for when you are more experienced/ have a good solid plan down the line.

Spend everything on things you do know. Spending little by little will only slow you down.

I have to disagree with you Godspeed. I would say go in with 3k on what he knows to do but dont go blowing 30k. By starting off small he has the following advantages

1.) He has a budget, so the choices he makes has to be more calculated and just not going with what ever sounds good.

2.) The 1st round might yield a little cashflow, break even or lose out. Which every way it comes out, he can take a step back and review his mistakes and his achievements. // Now he can go for a 2nd round and be better prepared and learn from his mistakes/over lookings that he made in round 1.

3.) If he goes all in now and it doesnt work out (just saying man, I hate to sound negative) he is out of luck. // If he uses a bit here and he says I am moving in a different direction now he has money to "play with".

Buy sites that are already making money with seo traffic but that are not ranking in the top 5 already. You already have the tools, (apparently) some experience with SEO and of course this forum so you should be able to rank in the top 5, top 3 or higher for the keywords.

At the very least, this way you will be making some of the money you spent back as the sites you purchase should already be profitable. Look at the information on the forum about buying sites, even about flipping sites as there is obviously info on buying there as well.

Make sure to put up 10% of your total investment ($3k in your case) into a site and don't pick up another until you've made the site MORE profitable than it already is. Sometimes that may mean ranking higher on page one or you may just need to swap out adsense and promote cpa offers instead.

You are pretty lucky to have family that supports you in your IM endeavors. I wish you the best of luck.

I would certainly not spend 30k on IM. Buying some stupid "guru" work. Even some of them sale mail hosting at 2k/month (30$/month from china).

Make somethign real with it, not buying garbabge here. Certainly don't buy anything from DP LOL, youre realy retard if you do so

Edit: I cant believe what I read. Are BHW people so greedy now? Stop trying to see your damn products for your own $. Stop asking him for money. Cmon...

Take the 30k, find a profitable online/offline hybrid business. Find a partner who is very good at that business, has licenses, is able to operate it efficiently. You will take 25K and expand his business and use your IM skills to bring customers to the business. For your investment and your marketing contribution, you will get a certain percentage of the business, 30%, 50% 70%, whatever you guys determine is fair. Make sure it's a profitable long term business that you are able to generate leads online with. With the other 5k, buy yourself something you want, try a few IM strategies, leave yourself a little reserve cash, whatever. You should have 4 months reserve cash or autopilot income that covers your expenses.

Once you find your partner, take a month or two to learn the industry and plan your strategy. Make sure it's something you enjoy and can learn within a reasonable amount of time in case you have to take over for your partner if he needs a break or gets sick. Maybe even take a training course or some classes at school or have your future partner train you on the day to day operations. Plan every single detail from how to split the money, how much to leave in the business, salaries, when to hire employees and purchase equipment, what equipment and infrastructure you need, buy or lease, used or new. 30K is a lot but it can go real quick if you hire 5 people, buy them all brand new computers and desks, get an unnecessary expensive office and the employees don't produce or the business is slow that month.

Build a long term business. IM is great, it's been great for many years. But 25 years from now, who the hell knows what the internet is going to look like, if Gobble & facebook are even going to be here anymore or if the little man will have a fighting chance after the politicians sell the first page results to the big corporations.

Good luck

Best way to spend $30k? Sex and drugs... If you don't have to return the investment, have a good time and say you lost everything buying bad WSOs, this happens all the time. :D

With that amount of money from an investor, I would recommend not taking any gambles. Purchase a few websites that are making some decent money with adsense and other offers. This should pay back the entire investment within the first year to year and a half. The money that is left over after building the solid income you could play around with and or build and create more sites. I would think with that kind of money you could easily build up a 50k to 60k a year residual income if you play your cards right.

I think the first should be a clear idea and plan, and only then you should looking for investor and identify the needed amount to start. Otherwise it will be money down the drain.
