Best way to rank in 2016

With all the new google updates and shuffles that has been pushed out during the year, I found it extremely difficult to rank new sites on competitive keywords.

I have many websites in the same niche targeting similar keywords, out of all these sites, the one with the best ranking is the one with minimal link building done to it. (Spent $120 on diversity links 1.5 years ago, and have not done any link building since then)

I am trying to make my other new sites rank as good as this one.
I have literally tried every single sticky SEO package being sold by different providers here on BHW.
After spending thousands and thousands of dollars, the results are truly disappointing.

Most of the multi-platform diversity link building are just no-follow junks or low quality spams. (ie. sherlock, lady gaga..etc).
You can purchase a few packages of this type and still not even be in top 100.

SAPE type links are more effective, but you will get penalized tomorrow if not today.
If you user buffers, the buffer site simply no longer pass any juice to your main site after Google finds out.

So my question is, if you have a new site, what type of link building(s) is currently the most effective and safe way to achieve top ranking for a competitive keywords? and are there even any real quality SEO providers on BHW that can help you rank as of today after all the Google updates? (I believe many seo being sold here used to work, but it is just simply no longer the case)

Remember that lot of not quality backlinks in short period of time can harm you.

Think twice before any action.

SEO isn't dead it just did a complete 180 and is heavily dependent on organic content and social media presence

if you outsource seo work make sure your people are aware of this
 
You mentioned everything but trying to build you own person PBN.

And your logic of SAPE is VERY wrong.

Just to inform you some wide niche G uses selected sites to be on top SERP no matter what updates rolling out they keep the same position for years .
I'm person who create sites only to get visitors but after last penguin update things becomes harder and harder .
I can't rank any of my sites since two years it just same crappy sites on top 10 no changes at all .
I know many people on y same position and they just giveup from SEO forever

Sounds like you are going after the wrong keywords.

This is basic shit man. Keyword research is key.

And its funny how people honestly believe that SEO is dead and you cant rank anything.

NO YOUR SEO SKILLS ARE DEAD AND YOUUUU CANT RANK ANYTHING.

Look at SEO like building a house. You have to set a foundation, then build out from there. Way to many of you guys want to take shortcuts and rank fast. It just doesn't happen like that anymore. I've been preaching this shit for the last year and a half, but none of you guys believe me. I come back to my post and I get 1-2 likes and I'm like.."Motherfucka..you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink".

Why is this? Lack of focus? Laziness? Lack of execution? A lot of people I meet here on BHW want to take the easy way out, or the path or least resistance. It's just not that easy. You guys know I still work 12-15 hours per day? Even after 8 years of doing this shit and making hundreds of dollars, I still hustle my dick off. You know why? Because, there's always someone hungrier than you. That, and there's nothing more gratifying than telling the "man" to fuck off. "You need to be here at 6 am"....nah..fuck off.."You need to deliver those TPS reports"...nah, fuck off.

Please note that I'm a noob.

I searched for good keywords with moderate competition. I wrote and ordered good articles and put the keywords in it naturally. Then I published it. Made 3 social medias profiles for links.

I waited 1 week and a half.

Now I have 16 keywords ranking on the first page. (I did try to optimize 2xx in that time lapse though but a lot were high competition)

Really I think it's even more easy than I thought, I think we're all looking for some OP technique that will get us over the top really fast but I consider this ^ to be really fast.

I did put 30$ in ads though, but I got only 40 clicks out of it which did not bring me all those sales (1-2 tops).

have I said I'm not targeting any keyword !! how is that will be ,is am I some astrologist know what in people minds !
sure I have very long list of KWs and more than one site for the same niche , when I said wide niche I'm not meaning it's a root niche had many sub , it sub niche with wide range of KW and search volume .
and I'm not lying to anyone and I'll say the truth thing becomes different for sure I was ranking very well before last updates .
I lost two major sites one was bring me 40,000 visitors/day and another 7000 visitors/day .
The 1st gone after MA and the 2d keeps loosing rank in past two years until today It bring only 40/visitors .
BTW you make it sound like I'm some looser trying to get hist first 200-UV/day , but I pass that phase 5 years ago I'm still ranking on many other sites but volume of traffic not that big as we get easy Pre-2013 update .
