Hello everyone!
First off I want to say thank you to this forum for giving me something very valuable....HOPE.
I have read/heard many times that to make long term money or to have a long term business,
you should base it on what you know or what you are passionate about. Well, I never considered
myself an expert on anything, but after much thought and reflection, I figured out that
what I do know how to do is lose weight and what I am passionate about is helping others lose weight.
Through learning and trial/error I have learned how to successfully lose weight in a way that
kept it off for many years. Once I figured out the best way, I was able to lose just under 100 pounds
going from 265 lbs down to 167lbs in just under a year. And during that time, I helped my sister
who had just been diagnosed with diabetes (which was my motivation) to go from 150-160lbs
down to about 115-120lbs, which may not sound like a lot but for a 5ft-4 woman that is a lot!
My method may not be unique, but I believe that I emphasize things that most plans do not
plus my way does not require supplements other than the optional multivitamin and
does not require hardcore workouts...it was the opposite actually because for years
before doing my method, I use to do hardcore workouts but never losing more than 20lbs.
But once I figured things out, Ive lost 50lbs without going to a gym. Workouts are not required,
but being active like walking or dancing 20-45mins for 3-4 days a week is needed for best results. When my sis
lost her weight she did cardio 3-4 days a week and when I lost 100lbs, I went to the gym for 45 minutes
6 days a week doing an easy low weight workout. I believe activities/workouts/exercises should be stress relievers not
stress makers.
Also, I am a food addict, so that allows me to understand people who are too. It is the only reason why
I have had to lose weight multiple times, I know how to lose the weight, but I eventually gained it back
because I couldnt control myself.
SO, I have considered maybe a membership site or a paid subscription newsletter type thing. The whole
autoresponder paid newsletter in my mind sounds like the best way to make recurring income, but I dont
see how I could do it with weight loss. The membership site is probably best for my case, but I dont
know what I could offer them to keep paying each month after they read the method during the 1st month. Offer them
some type of weekly support/motivation through email or chat? There is the idea of a forum, but Im worried people
might discuss things that might conflict or actually say negative things about me or my ideas within the forum.
Im sorry if this was too long, but I think by giving you an idea of what I have to offer, people will be
able to advise me better.
I definitely would like to make a recurring income. If possible, one that is passive so I can focus on marketing, but I don'tsee how that will be possible. So please let me know what you think is the best way to make money with what I know.If you think doing a website with affiliate links is better or something else that I didnt mention, please let me know!
Also, I was originally considering to offer this in the $5-$10 range where people tend to keep
their subscriptions longer because they forget about them or because it becomes easy to over deliver, but after reading what I may be offering, is that still a good idea?
Thank you so much!
ps: I am not a certified nutritionist, but when I was planning to be a pre-med student, I had
taken a nutrition course where I learned how to plan balanced eating plans for people
with different needs. So I was thinking that I could offer clients/customers 1 of the following- 1) I tell them
how much calories they should eat and then they figure their eating plans out based on guidelines. 2) I
help them make a customized eating plan. or 3) I give them recipes and they pick and choose.
#1 allows them to eat anything but most likely will be slower weight loss. #2 is best for their weight loss
but more work for me and might not be delicious BUT they will save money cuz they wont be eating out or eating fast food.
#3 is ok, but since I didnt make those recipes, I dont know if they taste good.
