Best way to legit improve channel audience?

Was looking to try build my personal channel up and gain a real channel audience, and preferably an active one too but just not sure the best ways to attract people to my channel as it appears more people trying to do this also makes it quite a hard thing to do now a days.

Nothing is hard, it's all about presentation and psychology.

You need good content..and constant good content.

No one wants to see crap in their feed all the time.

You can build your channel audience in a number of ways.

As above, provide quality good content. Be helpful and you will gain a following. If you can solve a problem people will come.

Go social, build pages on Facebook etc with the sole purpose of driving people to your channel. You can even use paid advertising to target your desired audience on these networks.

Get in the forums, be helpful and don't spam. Make connections and friends who could champion your page, forum sigs and your username. Same username as channel (some people search that stuff).

Have a voice. YouTube audiences like people with a voice. Don't go middle of the road and give the people what they want to hear. Speak from the heart and don't be afraid to offend. People will enjoy your content more if they know it's coming from a real person. Even if they don't agree they get involved and discuss. This only makes for a more vibrant channel.

Oh. Just ask people to subscribe. In every video you make and upload make sure to make a clear call to action asking people to subscribe to your channel. They might do it on their own. But why not nudge them in the right direction.

Notice he fills more of the screen than most hosts... = bigger action.

Notice the big smile and caffeine-feuled but not over the top personality.

Notice the rapid but not obnoxious pace.

Notice his vids have colorful backgrounds.

Notice he does something funny right off the bat to grab your attention, then gets right to the point.

Notice he uses some funky effects and overlays.

Notice the click-bait titles.

Notice he regularly asks people to sub.

Notice he rapidly reached millions of subs and millions of views per video.

Pretty good blueprint, actually.
