Best way to handle multiple locations on same site?

What's the best way to have multiple locations and to keep the info all separate? Just categories with the city to keep it in it's own directory?

Landing pages is what I recommend domain.com/city and so on for each one some people do sub-domains like city.domain.com I prefer the other way around because you don't lose the authority of your main URL and it can be redistributed through site structure.
