Not as easy as it seems. SEO may piss you off in the beginning. Also, I don't think nowadays it's necessary to make web 2.0's manually only. There are some software for them as well.

In my Eyes Social Signals are more worth then good Backlinks. But I'm running a Test over 20 Sites, so maybe I'll let you know more when I have my results. But what I can say what is the best so far is Authority. Get lot Content like 1 Article every Day when you reached around 100 Articles your site should already get decent traffic. but as the others told, try it out. And maybe share your Results
