I'm trying to figure out what would be the best way to blank my referrer so noone can see where the traffic/conversions are coming from? I was told SSL, so I set up a free SSL on my tracking domain and I have it set up like this:

click link on http ://landing page -> https ://trackingdomain.com/offerlink -> Offer

the link on the landing page goes to an https ://trackingdomain.com/offerlink but if I enter http :// stardrifter.org/ cgi-bin/ ref.cgi instead of the actual offer and click the link from my landing page it will show my landing page as the referrer.

Am I doing this wrong? is there a better way to do this?

Thanks for readin

bump...

me too ive been trying for hours why my referrer wasnt blanked. people say going from https to http blanks the referrer, but i set the last page as whatismyreferrer.com and it still shows original referrer. what am i missing? i have no idea how ssl actually works.

any help?

of course im using dmr.. ive mastered dmr..but it has some issues w certain browsers, hence the need for ssl. but ssl is giving headache, not blanking referrers. what am i doing wrong?

Hairspray. Not sure what you are doing, but an option is telling them straight up that they need FireFox or some browser that your DMR supports or they can't do whatever you want them to do.

DMR has issue on Opera http://referer.wordpress.com/2009/08/27/hide-http-referer-opera-952/

for cloaking, if you place code on your own server for redirection, no matter where you wanna place the code, I suggest you use a folder and use robots.txt block search engine visit this folder

As I wrote in my Referer hider here http://referer.us/hide-http-referer.html

DMR (Double Meta Refresh) is last year's technology, it's not working in so many circumstances.

I make a one click testing tool http://referer.us/http-referer-test.html
you can test it.
