You can follow these steps for Static and Dynamic website.
1. If your site is Static, just go to your "File Folder" and compress it. After Compressing it just click download. You will get a backup in your PC. Do same for Dynamic. But for extra you will need you back Database from MySQL.
2. Another is you need to contact to your hosting provider to backup your file. Some company usually take backup after few day. So you can contact to your hosting provider about it.

Best way to backup WordPress sites is with, the plugin, Updraft Plus. After backing them up you can upload them by using the same plugin.
I have it installed on all my WordPress sites, it's really useful.

I second this, UpdraftPlus is really great.
It can be setup to sync with plenty storage solutions; Google Drive, Dropbox, FTP etc.
You can also add how many backups you want be stored e.g. it automatically deletes a backup so you always got 30 daily backups.

if your site is on wordpress, then get wpbackup plugin by mythemeshop.
in other cases, you can get it done by contacting your host.

While the above have merits, the simple way to backup your entire site including database is a free plugin from wordpress.org called duplicator. This plugin will backup - Database ( including user and passwords ), posts, images,comments, videos, settings,plugins ( including all settings ),users,comments,ads, traffic stats, themes, child themes. So in fact the duplicator plugin will save absolutely everything. Then from inside your admin you create a package zip file and download to your desktop. You can then move your entire site including database etc to another host in minutes or keep a complete backup ready to install if anything goes wrong with your site. I use this plugin on all my sites from big ones with hundreds of posts to new sites. I use this to install sites i flip which can be installed on a new host within minutes. So no need to contact hosts, dump databases, just a very simple plugin and you are good to go

As mentioned, that depends very much on your hosting. Wordpress has a ton of available plugins, which fit the different needs you might have (amount of time the backup is run, maybe upload to dropbox or to mail etc). Make sure you have one which backs up the additional tables and allows for different backups (full, incremental) etc. If you have a hoster like blogger, set a calendar to export your blog on a regular basis.

Just check whether your cpanel have R1soft, if yes then you can have last 14 days backup on it. You can simply download or restore.

Yes. However there are more than enough people who are just interested in a provider backup aka shell / cron. They tend to forget the databases. If that is their interest, a plugin like duplicator is irrelevant.
Additionally duplicator is a "simple backup tool", without the features a real backup plugin will provide you with. Backups need to be "set it and forget it" not "start it manually". Scheduled backups or backups to a system like dropbox are only available in the pro version.
Depending on the project I use different tools, personally I most often use WP-DBManager since it backs up to the server itself and I can use it with the automated scp cron jobs from my machine.

Duplicator plugin is not a " simple backup tool " and anyone who uses it well tell you, i build websites and move to clients hosting all the time, i also backup and move sites from one host to another using the plugin. so to say it is " simple backup tool " is wrong when you clearly have never used it. I am not saying to use it an nothing else, i think you may have misunderstood what i meant a bit. The Op wanted a simple way to move a site, so i suggested a plugin i use daily.
