Does Google really notice duplicate content, and not credit you for the anchors in duplicates?

If so, are the anchors in duplicate content worth anything to you? (partial credit?)

And finally- What do you guys recommend I do to spin articles...?? Im thinking I should

a) hire writer on elance (or this site) to spin articles for me and then give those to my link builder, or

b) use article spinner and just do it myself

either way what's the best article spinning software? (I've tried article leverage on submityourarticle and am curious about Brad Callens product...)

Feel free to direct me to a pertinent thread that may answer my questions

Thanks!

There are many many websites with duplicate content that is high page rank and has high rankings. I dont believe there is any penalty. I think most people are caught in the google dance and think it has to do with their content.

I think unique content is good for visitors and will have them come back to your site.

I've never heard of any penalties that google has given for duplicate content, but i think (if i remember correctly) that if you do have duplicate content on your website, it will be harder to rank for a specific keyword.

So i would say just get unique content for visitors and for google and such. If your too lazy to write them yourself, hier someone to do it for you.

Also, you could use an article spinner to make unique copies of one of your articles to help you get backlinks from article directories...

No penalty by google, but maybe other search engines do penalize, not sure...

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about a dupe penalty. Though, if you are worried, I would either get someone to rewrite my content or use content that hasn't made it on the 'net yet, i.e. stuff from books. :)

Well, I'm specifically referring to article directories (not content on my own site)

All of the article spinning software ads say once an article of yours has been posted on a directory, that any identical articles posted on other directories will not have as much worth...

Which is why I'm doing the spinning, but I'm curious to know if anyone knows what the best spinner/mass submission site is...

thanks

I haven't had much issues with dupe content. Just depends on the competition and what terms you are going after. Of course, unique content will keep your visitors coming back.

I use a program that takes any content, and then mashes it up, and the grammar comes out the same, and wording, but the search engines look at it as new content.. tested fine in copyscape - also , you can add links to keywords with it as well

Totally Black Hat

ok guys-

id be using something like content hurricane on a white hat site ive put thousands of dollars into...

is there any risk i could get penalized by google?

i never thought duplicate it would be a risk with google... only article sites like AC EA etc etc :D

Sorry, all wrong!

I know from first hand experience that Google does give out duplicate content penalties.

1) When you do a G search, sometimes at the bottom it says "we omitted results which were the same or very similar to the ones displayed above...", this is where G puts pages which are registered as duplicates, it's called the supplemental index.

2) I had a news site pulling 30,000 uniques a day. White hat - except for the fact that my content was either directly copied, or poorly spun using google translate. One day, I woke up to find google traffic had stopped completely.

How do I know it was a duplicate penalty?

Because when I add "&filter=0" to the end of my google search url - turning off google's dupe filter - I rank highly again.

You may rank with duplicate content, even for a period of months. But it is not safe, and you are always at risk of a penalty.

To get round this, I use iTrevor's article spinner at http://rewriteit.co.za, and to get unique content fast, I use dragon naturally speaking. Given a few hours training and a clear voice, you can have quite substantial articles done in a matter of minutes.

That's nice information, well supported. And I certainly suspected as such.

Do you have any ideas on the best way for me to turn 10 or 15 articles into hundreds without having to spin them myself? I'm quite lazy myself.

I looked at content hurricane (super blackhat) and it's pretty awesome, but I'm concerned that google will somehow pick up on what I'm doing and penalize my (WH) site. Also considering just outsourcing the spinning, but it needs to be to someone competent who is gonna do more than just use google translator.

thoughts?

Duplicate contents are not penalized by google, they just filter it. Duplicate contents will always be part of the internet.

You just have to make sure that your site ranks better than the sites with the duplicate content.
