I would like to feed the program with random quotes and let's say I want the program to automatically post 1 of those quotes every 3 hours to my Twitter account. Is there such a program? Thanks!

You can use Hootsuite for this ($10 per month) and upload a text file containing your quotes and schedule them to be posted every few hours. A free alternative is Onlywire. You can't upload a text file but you can feed it an RSS feed.

If it is a one time off, you're rather off using Fiverr gigs.

I don't think any free application will give you such a facility. Though, you can try ifttt and let me know how it goes! I have just seen the demo but didn't get a chance to use it for the specified purpose.

Hi kx1,

You may want to consider doing it the good old fashioned manual way as well. Freelance work is so efficient and affordable nowadays a lot of things that can be automated for say $10 a month via suggestions like Hootsuite above can actually be competed with by real people. If you already have the Twitter quotes sourced you may be able to out source the auto posting for as little as say $.05 cents(no monthly fees, no accounts to deal with, better service etc.). The real value of this idea comes into play if you want fresh updated quotes/content and someone to monitor the social media presence a bit. You may be able to find someone to put quotes together for as little as $.10 cents to $.25 per Tweet and auto post them at your desired intervals. Do keep us posted on what solution you come up with for the project as this is a very interesting topic. Right now Hootsuite and Live Freelancers seem like the only 2 real viable options. The bufferapp seems pretty useful and it would be interesting to hear some more opinions on how people are actually leveraging it in a real world scenario. Here are a few more outlets to consider as well:

you can also use the new version of tweet adder. it is one time pay so better than monthly payment i think.

I also agree on TweetAdder - but for free alternative select TwitterFeed with free WP you schedule to post the said posts. I think TwitterFeed can be programmed to check every 30min, so that'd work.

TwitterFeed can also post your FB and others, so it's the best free solution out there.

Tweetadder for sure, pay once and you will use this software forever. Be sure to look around for a discount code before you buy.

tweetadder website has been down for quite a time? where do you download and purchase?

bufferappDOTcom - exactly what you need. Just buffer pages and add them to be tweeted according to schedule. I use it for myself and it works good.
