What's the best way to ask for likes on a video or what do you do?

I know, it sounds stupid but every big and medium channel does it. Just reminding the viewers to do it seems to increase the likes on a video by XX %

Then you can do social media marketing. I mean facebook marketing. For an example invite your firends and groups member to like your page. It can help you gain likes.
