Best video editing software for a beginner?

Hi all,

I want the best video editing software for a beginner? I don't want fancy program as I'm just getting started.

I want something simple. Cut, edit, add music, you name it in the program.

I heard about Filmora, is it good?

Or do you advice me to learn Adobe Premiere from the get go instead of a basic program?

Use camtasia. It is just like adobe premier pro it is lightweight than adobe and simple as that..
But it is paid one..
 
I started with sony vegas as a beginner and it was very easy, now i'm using adobe premiere pro and is doing his job very well and also from my point of view is more professional than vegas.
I would recommand you premiere pro and you can find a lot of tutorials on youtube and also a lot of free courses on udemy.
 
Did you get any software bundled on your computer? Windows Movie Maker or iMovie will do for a beginner.

Windows Movie Maker was the best but I don't think you can get it anymore on new OS. I found some videos on YouTube I put together using Windows Movie Maker and 10 years later I still think they are better than what I can do with most video editing software.

Ah I didn't realize that WMM is no longer bundled with Windows. You may be able to get it by installing Windows Essentials: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/18614/windows-essentials

There are quite a few reports online of it working on Windows 10. Worth a shot!

But you can learn these basic commands in Adobe Premiere in less than a minute, it is no need to read an entire manual of 1000 pages or to watch youtube tutorials for hours, just learn exactly what you need.
 
Filmore is not bad. I used it in the past, and it's good for the beginner. As others said, you can try Camtasia as well.
 
If you're just getting started you dont need anything heavy like adobe products, try the little ones though they re very limited. If all you want to do is simple cut edit add music then go for the simple ones. camtasia filmora or movavi, sony Vegas, tried them all, just cant take to any of them. but you can give them a trial.
